it was on the TV with the volume off, i had howard stern on the computer and i looked over and saw mayweather on the screen so i turned on the volume, i used to like WWF but its gotten hard to watch for even a second in the last few years, now that vince has no competition he lets his daughter have a job on the creative team, she has no ability whatsoever, and i guess shes too dumb to even get a job where she can fuck shit up in another industry

Do you guys not find it sad that he shows up at an event such as this, only for people to question who it is? Although I can't say that I admire him, I will say that Floyd is correct to attempt to publicise himself and enhance his reputation. He is entitled to all the fame, glamour and accolades that are howered upon him now and I wish him luck in whatever he does.

However, here's my primary angle. Everything Floyd does, boxing does. If the general public see a young flashy healthy, superbly skilled champion as the face of boxing they may be attracted no?
I agree Donny. I don't see anything wrong with Floyd appearing on WWE.

I remember title of the first article I read about it was "Mayweather continues crossover mainstream appeal" or something along those lines.

I never had any interest in WWE, but enough people out there do. It is also a market which buys tickets and purchases PPV's...just like boxing. This was not a rushed decision by Mayweather, it was well thought out and he will reap many benefits from it.

He did the same thing by appearing on Dancing with the Stars (which hit a demographic completely outside of the typically boxing fan)

What is good for the P4P champ is good for the sport. I bet a lot of people have shown interest in Mayweather fights (whether they like him or not) over the past year that have never had any interest in boxing in the past.

btw, it should be mentioned that ODH was offered a chance to participate on the whole wrestlemania angle and he said no

Maybe they wanted him to wear his wig and fishnets and dance around with the other WWE girls

    Exactly.

People should be glad that Floyd is getting these opportunites to appear at different events, because it means that people in the entertainment world are paying attention to what is going on in boxing. That's a good thing.

Unfortunately, a lot of people here would rather just bash Floyd for everything he does, instead of taking the time to think about what it might mean for the sport as a whole.

I agree. The more he's out there in the public eye, the more people who will be interested in watching boxing...whether it's to see him win or to see him get his face smashed in. Exposure for Mayweather means exposure for boxing...that's a good thing in my opinion.

he gets more desperate for popularity everyday
And all he has to do is fight more often. He does not seem to want to be popular, but looked upon as an icon or a celebrity. He gets lots of press when he fights so get out there and fight. At this stage he probably does not know what he wants, but whatever it is, the lack of boxing is not going to supply it to him as that is what he is. The WWE will also not supply him with what he is looking for.

Yea right like his really piss off and want to go toe to toe with someone twice or trice as big as him the big show.

    bad publicity stunt imo!
I must admit you're right. Floyd is not that big to join WWE.

As much as I dislike Floyd, I think he will be good for the sport. I think he and Goldie will do great things in the future and I hope this is the case.

Why do I dislike Floyd again so much?

Some dude posted a video of all the elbows Floyd landed against Hatton and it was a crying shame that someone who claims to be the p4p king would resort to such measures.

I was going to make the video myself but I got frustrated because there were so many of them and Cortez let it go on and on and on and I just gave up. I am glad it was some one else who made the video and not me.

Sure Cortez warned the little c0ckroach about the elbows but give me a break there were way too many of them. I will upload the video this dude made, later tonight when I have time.

Holyfield has done shit like this and he no doubt is known for being a classy guy, but I ask myself would Roy Jones or Sugar Rey Leonard have done this when they were P4P kings? I think not.
You ever think Floyd may want to do something to make money other then boxing? Heaven forbid that he does something that his kids got him into. His kids actually got him into wrestling and he's doing this for them giving them something more then the "THERE'S ONLY OOOOONE MAYWEATHER" bad guy they see on boxing shows. Giving them a hero-like person that he can pull off on a wrestling show is something to be smiled at not sneered at. But as always people will hate Mayweather no matter what he does.

It's a shame but all that talent and money but no one has suggested PBF hire a good PR man. This way he can move his lips but nothing dumb will come out. I say leave promoting to the promoters and let the fighters do the fighting.
