Excuse my spelling but here it goes,

    My favorite pnoy food:

Kare-Kare( made with melted peanut with beef bones and beef )
Minudo (carrots, tomato, raisen, potatoes, beef and all those good stuff)
Dinugoan (Square pork blood, vegtables, pork)
    Panset ( skinny pasta,carrots,chicken,soy sauce,vegtables)
Palabok (eggs, crusted pork, delicious orange sauce, two kinds of pasta)

For years Ive been trying to convince my parents to start a restaurant cause they can cook the best of the best pnoy foods. Once I convince them all of you guys are invited to dine in seattle for free. I'll convince them to have a huge flat screen so we can watch boxing there as well
We'll visit you sometime in Seattle Julius. Be sure to prepare some good pinoy foods. hehehe.

As to eating in carenderias in the Philippines, I don't suggest that you eat there. Sometimes, the foods are not prepared well and most often the utensils are not sterilized.

Anyway, am a frequent visitor of carenderias but I choose the place very well.
Peeps in the p.i are savages, my uncle and older brothers tease me about being picky. they drink hardcore and eat hardcore litterally owning a hole block scarying neighbors around. They mess with me in a humor way thinking amboys have weak stomach and can't drink or eat like what they say "real man" from the p.i Baranguys. Everywhere I walk carenderias ask me to eat and taste their foods. When Im with the wife ofcourse me or anybody else says nothing. Yea the wife is straight ladyLord When Im without her though its fun every one shows me love. Where I was born is still owned by relatives of mine and family friends. My dad is like godfather in our area so I get treated like a prince. I can walk from Baranguy to Baranguy with jewels on and not get robbed, now in the p.i thats real respect cause if its anybody else. Not only will you get robbed your going to get a beat down. My fam still insisted I don't wear any jewelries though cause we still didnt know how I'd get accepted back in the neighborhood. Funny cause i was paranoid at the start, I got a lot of eyes straight mean-mugging. I guess my superior pyhsic and size makes them think twice and ask who I am.

    I obviously miss the p.i.

Julius, it's "barangay". And no, it's not a homo word.

I f*cking eat anykind of food that they offer me everytime I'm in PI. But it's not like I'm a glutinous bastard or anything like that, it's just that it's really to refuse someone's offer without insulting them.

Last Christmas I was in San Manuel, Pang. with my inlaws. They are Ilocanos. Their pinakbet are the best. But you're not gonna believe how they make the pinapaitan. The food looks disgusting but it taste good.

PAcstraight, refrain from eating all the foods offered to you especially without asking first what the food is. I was offered once a caldereta not knowing that they used dog meat. It tasted good but it tasted different from the meats I have already eaten. I asked my late grandfather what it was and I almost vomitted at the dining table upon knowing that it was dog meat.

I did asked what was the special ingredient. It was the unwashed inside part of goat's intestine. I could actually see the undigested grass. But I still proceeded eating it.

I prefer the pork adobo. With boiled kangkong spinach. Or sometimes with raw quartered local tomatos without any dressing.
Once in awhile, get outside in fresh air, take a deep breath & with a deep sigh, let out all the things that's bottled up inside you & be free, & you'll get a glimpse of nirvana.

For me they always tell me what it is they want me to try, becuase within the family it is considered rude to be suprise in that manner. After tasting then they tell you ooh by the way that was pigeon meat.
