My point was that Mundine hasent fought anyone who can hit like Pavlik and he has shown a weakness in the past to a light punchers , so my opinion is Pavlik would brutally KO him .
I think if they did fight after 2 or 3 rounds Mundine would have a swift and sudden fall from grace , and sunny days would feel far away .
My point is he has fought guys with big punches, Kessler, Green, Echols, sure they may not punch as hard as Kelly but they all punch hard enough to KO anyone if they get it right. He has fought better opponents in his career than the likes of Abraham, Froch and Sturm yet they dont get half the criticism he does.
I still say Mundine is a cock, he is full of shit, he thinks he is better then what he is proven, but i dont for one minute let that cloud my judgement on his ability. If he fights the top guys at 160 he'll beat em all except maybe Pavlik and he'll go 12 with Kelly.

If im proven wring ill admit it.

I am not quite as high on Mundine as you, but I do agree with your basic sentiment. He would be a handful for anyone at 160, including Pavlik [1]. Even Kessler did not beat him easily. How anyone could not think he would (could) be top 5 is beyond me.

I do object to your point that he has fought better opponents than Abraham and Sturm though. Kessler, and possibly Soliman, Green and Ottke aside, he don't have the same resume as those guys. And Mundine is 2-2 vs. the mentioned opponents [2]. Abraham and Sturm have fought at least as (many) good fighters as that.

[1] Yes, I'd pick Pavlik to win obivously, but Mundine would be just about the biggest challenge out there for Pavlik at 160.
[2] I refuse to give extra credit for beating Soliman 3 times.

I dont like Mundines ego,but he surprised me by gettting past Antwon Eccles as easily as he did,I would have lost money there. Styles make fights they say and he has got a different, natural style.
Just cause he got sparked off a temple shot while fuklking around side on does'nt mean a great deal. Was funny at the time though,. Only thing that could of bettered it was if they couldn't get Okktes glove out of his mouth.

Mundine fought at 168 without ever dieting, which means he has always been more a 160 fighter anyway. He is much improved and could beat anyone at 160 on his night.

I think if he gets some of the big fights in the division he will be seen as a top 2 MW by end of 2009. Laugh if u like but im pretty confident in this prediction.

If Sven Ottka can KO Mundine , it would be a video nasty if he fought Pavlik.

As ive said in previous posts i think Mundine doesnt have a poor chin i just think Pavlik hits way harder than anything he has fought.
And Mundine would be wondering in the rain , then have a swift and sudden fall from grace , and as he looks up at the ring lights sunny days would seem far away .

And that doesn't mean he'd knockout Mundine if they fought, and I think Kessler, Green and Echols at super middleweight stand the chance of hitting harder then pavlik.

On Mudine's best night he does not beat Kelly Pavlik at 160. He is not better then Kessler at 168.

You know if it wasn't Mundine I wouldn't say much about the Taylor fight cause he's moving to a new division but how long has it been since he's fought a good fighter, its absolutely hilarious.

Eagle, Mundine looked pretty cut against Soliman, where is he going to lose this 8lb to get to 160?
He may be pushing his luck trying to get to 160 and have the power to mix it with Pavlik, Abraham etc Boxing wise he gives those guys some headaches with his speed, what worries me about him is will he have the stamina to last 12 rounds with these guys? There is one thing about Mundine that no one can deny and that is he is supremely fit and he looked like he could go another 12 rounds the other night. Taking off another 8lb may put this advantage in jeopardy. I hope he fights Abraham this year and we will find out soon enough. I think Pavlik and Wright will stay clear of him, he has no profile in the USA at all and a match made there seems unlikely as i am sure both Pavlik and Wright are after big pay days. Abraham may come to OZ as he has no US profile either but that will change after he beats Miranda. Mundine should go to the States and fight on an undercard in the next 3 months.

If he stayed at 168 he would get badly smashed, espcially by my man Froch.

Joke right? PPl complain about Mundine's lack of quality opponents, but his resume shits all over Frochs. Soliman is 10 times as good as anyone Froch has fought. Mundine is deadly accurate if nothing else so that leaky defense of Carls would be breached with ease.
