What is the deal with Taylor and Miranda? Are they both moving up? Were they both chased out of the Middle Weight Division by Pavlik? Would any one like to see Taylor/Miranda at 168? And Could Miranda have beaten Taylor on the night of Sept 29th., 2007?
    Daniel G!!!

    Good question.

I have to say...NO. Miranda would'nt have beaten Taylor. While Miranda has some really heavy hands & impressive power to push them through...he could hardly break Pavlik's guard.

Taylor has a much better defense than Pavlik. Outside of that...Miranda's wild with his punches, unlike Pavlik who is one of the most accurate middleweight heavy hitters of the last four or five years.

While Pavlik totally destroyed both Taylor & Miranda...I felt that his showing against Miranda was the more impressive of those bouts.

Against Miranda he was accurate & focused. Against Taylor he was just going in for the kill & got clocked with some unecessary shots.

Think of Miranda...no defense Miranda...all offense & wreckless abandonment in against a focused & pissed off Taylor.

If that aint enough...think of Miranda against Howard Eastman.

That were'nt no show & Taylor would have a serious advantage in age & agility over the abilities of the more experienced Eastman who hammered Miranda several times before being canvased & then stopped prematurely by the ref.

In the end...I think Miranda is exciting...but he's still to raw to withstand Taylor...when Taylor was on point.

I'd say no aswel . Whilst im no big fan of Taylor and feel he is a little over rated, I do feel his strengths would counter anything Miranda brought to the table. He has quick hands , decent boxing brain, nice movement. Miranda would be on the wrong end of a decision .

I don't know, you know the thing that Pavlik did to Miranda which caused him so much trouble was that he backed Miranda up and Miranda had no idea how to fight backing up. Taylor doesn't back anybody up. Just not the way he fights. The safe pick is Taylor but I could see him getting caught with something big backing up with his hands down.

If Pavlik caught Taylor I am sure Miranda would have also. Taylor had never fought a guy with the power these two have. But there was no way Miranda was fighting at 160lbs anymore, so the fight was never going to happen. Id like to see it at 168lbs. Miranda by KO (and more of you will agree with me after next Saturday! )
