I voted for PAV winning by deciosn because of his unrelenting pressure and power but this certainly is not soemthing new to Bernard. I am worried on this one. Hopefully Hopkins old legs will show come fight time

If it happens, I go for Pavlik by late stoppage, the old man eventually slowing down enough from the 8th on.

Again... I'm a huge Pavlik fan, and never been a Hopkins fan. But a KO? That'd be one of the easiest bets in boxing. If Hopkins has avoided getting KO'ed throughout his career, even from much bigger guys, what makes you think that Pavlik's going to do it?
I think the reason people are thinking it can be a KO is because Hopkins is obviously at the end of his career and if it's going to happen at any point, it will probably happen now.

Hopkins has the craftiness, (and dirty-ness) to steal a win here by boring decision and possibly upset Pavlik's momentum.

If Kelly wins, then it was against a washed up B-Hop who recently lost to Joe Calzaghe and Jermain Taylor. The credibility for the win disappears due to Hopkins age and string of losses.

If Kelly loses, and it would most likely be because of a tactically nightmarish borefest points loss, well there goes his 0, there goes his momentum, here come the naysayers and it may be well undeserved.

Much like James Toney, Hopkins is capable of upsetting anyone on a given night, but I daresay its not because he's the better fighter or the guy that deserves to win. These old school fighers are simply saavy enough to get the job done in the end, no matter how ugly.

I would like to see Pavlik go another direction. Abraham most definitely.
I think Pavlik's camp is going this direction because if they beat Hopkins more decisively than Calzaghe did, there's no way Joe can hide from him. If they do, then he will be criticized heavily for ducking Pavlik.

I agree if Hopkins wins, which he definitely can, Pavlik's career may be in danger. This is a high risk, somewhat high reward fight if you ask me. More credit to Pavlik for taking it.

Caleoh 12 you might be the best and smartest poster in here. You can read into a situation, break it down and give us the outcome and what it will become all in one. You really help out the retards like me. Thanks buddy.

There's not much to read into, Hopkins throws one punch at a time... He was looking for a way out against Calzaghe(Low Blows=Oscar Award) He is old and gets tired, Could had lost to Wright. Pavlik will knock the Bastard out.

Yeah good point's but I ALWAYS get nervous when fighters and thier "People" start looking at the fight AFTER this one. It always spells disatster. On ESPN it says Pavlik is not thrilled about the fight, the quote seemingly form Bob Arum is "Kelly isn't thrilled with the fight, but one of the incentives he has is that if he's going to fight Calzaghe after Calzaghe fights Roy Jones, it will be 168 pounds anyway. So it gets him ready for that fight." I hate it when they take a fight but are looking at another.

OK, who's the joker who said Hopkins by KO?

At this point in his long and storied career Hopkins can't win at the upper echelon of boxing, but he will always be able to make it an awkward night for whomever he's in against and make it a muddy event for judges to score. This will be a test for Pavlik as he's more used to kayoing opponents as opposed to not and this is one guy he should definitely not be planning on putting down for a ten count. Also, Hopkins is dangerous in a way Taylor is not in that he's not above bending the rules with headbutts and things of that nature to get Pavlik off his game. He doesn't have one-punch KO power by if Hopkins turns it on he can wear you down. But the likelihood is he'll throw 2-3 punches per round and cruise to an awkward loss.
    Oops

In think this is a crap matchup and I really have no interest in seeing Hopkins fight again. I just hope Pavlik can flatten Hopkins once and for all. Maybe that will hit the message home. He's become such a bore and not even a technician, but a bore.

Well yes - Pavlik is what? 26 and Hopkins in his 40's. Pavlik is in his prime and Hopkins in his ------- I don't know. Pavlik will only benefit in $$$$$ as i guess hopkins will too since it's not a title fight why should Pavlik take it if not for the $$$. It won't add to his legacy if he wins fighting a 40 + fighter when he's 26 and in his prime fighting a guy well past it. The whole thing about Kelly Pavlik has been fighting the best for legit titles and not taking easy fights and that's what is good about him. Now he's taking on a guy who is well past it (Sorry Bernard) compared to a 26 year old and for no title.......... Seems to be a departure from the Kelly "Thing" for me to take this fight.

I would not say Pavlik has hit his prime yet.

A little while ago alot of people we're talking about Joe Calzaghe being just too experienced for Pavlik at this stage of his career and it would be horribly wrong if Pavlik took on the Welshman. I am one of the people who thought Hopkins beat Calzaghe. Now people are coming out of the trees talking about when Pavlik K.O.'s Hopkins, or dominates Hopkins, it's going to send a clear picture to Calzaghe, he's the real deal and bla bla bla.
Oct 18, school is in session Pavlik.
