Default Will Cotto ever be the same after tonight?

    Discuss

It sounds brutal and the kind of fight that can ruin a young fighter if Cotto truly took as much punishment as was described. Something like Taylor Chavez in which Meldrick was never mentally or physically the same again.

For those of you who saw the fight, do you think Cotto will return back to the same form he was and even better from this loss, or do you think from this moment on a big chunk of miguel cotto will be missing, because he left it in that ring. Discuss

Cotto took alot mostly to the body. I dont think he has the chin to really get physically messed up im sure this will hit him mentally though.

I think Margarito will always have Cottos number as Cotto really cant work the body of Tony otherwise he will get hit, styles and Cottos main weapon his body work was nearly nullified.

Cotto wont ever fight Margarito again.

I think Cotto still has the ability to win a rematch, but its an uphill battle. I was watching his fights with Abdullaev and Lovemore Ndou, and he seemed to have way better stamina in those fights, I still can't help but feel that his stamina was effected, and thats more why he was so damaged. I mean Margarito never really hurt Cotto with any one punch, I don't think this fight will effect Cotto physically in the long run any more than the Mosley fight, but I think mentally its a whole different scenario. I just hope Cotto can get over it. He can still beat almost anyone else in the division, and like I said he might even beat Margarito the next time around if his nose doesn't get broken.

If anything his biggest hurdle will be if he can get over the psychological effect. Anytime an undefeated fighter first loses, it's devastating. Losing in such fashion as last night has to be even more devastating. Only time will tell.

You have to wonder if Margarito will be the same also. It does not matter how good your chin is, but taking shots to the head like that over and over again is going to take something from you.

Antonio took some punches that were downright scary looking. I mean if he wants an enjoyable life past boxing, he should not have many more fights.

Im completely agree Taeth , that will not affect to Cotto , contrary of this he will get this in a positive sense , next time his routine of training will have to do some others adjustment , thats all...............he had dominating the fight until round 11 , i dont know how others can thinks that Cotto would not want fight Margaro again .............

you know Macho it would be nice if you were realistic for once... Cotto was not dominating the fight up to the 11th, he easily won the first 5 of 6 rounds with a few swing rounds after, but from the 8th round on Cotto was fading and getting grinded down.. Just admit it for once that Cotto isint invinceable

No doubt he will be back. He wasn't knock down or Knock out he took a knee 2 times to evade not get seriously hurt. he was still competitive during round 11 but MArgos just kept coming forward no matter what hit him.
