Haye would have beaten Peter and Vitali

What's all the fuss about Vitali keeping his hands low and him going straight back...HE HAS ALWAYS DONE THAT!!!

#1 Vitali keeps his hands low as he is 6'7-6'8 he's extremely tall and hard to hit to the head for a guy like Sam Peter who is 6'0 tall or even a guy like David Haye who is 6'3. He keeps his hands low to protect the body where he is more vulnerable.

#2 Vitali leans straight back to make fighters over extend therefore leaving themselves open to counters.

I thought Peter and Vitali fought to their usual level. Peter's a limited plodder.. his only chance was Vitali showing severe ring rust - obviously that didn't happen.

Haye's success at heavyweight will be decided by the effect his bombs have on fighters chins.. Vitali has always shown a granite chin.

I would make Haye a BIG underdog against Vitali.. in fact i'd be SHOCKED if he beat him.

It would be a travesty though if a fighter with Haye's ability couldn't beat Peter.

Sure Peter is slow and can't box but Haye is vulnerable to letting himself get hit too often and if Sam is able to keep "touching" (as Teddy Atlas puts it) Haye then David will have a FULL FIGHT on his hands. Sam has a great chin and well frankly we have no clue about what David Haye can and cannot take.

David Haye is fighting MONTE BARRETT who at best lost decisions to Mesi and Whittaker and Wlad put him down 5 times but since those glory days he's been KO'd by Cliff Couser and Nicolay Valuev.


I enjoy you Haye fans you're hyping up a guy who has NEVER fought a top level heavyweight and after he fights Monte Barrett he STILL won't have fought a top rated heavyweight.


Vitali took Lennox Lewis' best shots I HIGHLY doubt Haye will bring anything more to the table. David Haye gets hit too much and if he has an Amir Kahn moment vs Monte Barrett then you guys had better hide for a couple years because I won't let you hear the end of it!

Tony Thompson - Beat Guinn, Timor Ibragimov, and Luan Krasniqi back to back to back. Had never been KO'd before either and he was a mandatory Wlad didn't want to fight AND he was a 6'5 SOUTHPAW who NOBODY wants to fight, not because of power but because of strength, size, and he's awkward.

Ray Austin - Had an eliminator bout with Sultan Ibragimov and fought Sultan to a draw and Sultan chose to fight for one belt and Tony fought for Wlad's belt. Once again a mandatory who Wlad finished without ever throwing his moneymaker right cross...that was a devistating KO.

Jameel McCline - beat Michael Grant, Lance Whittaker, and Shannon Briggs back to back to back to get a shot vs Wladimir. McCline is obviously still a solid heavyweight having given Sam Peter the fight of his life not too long ago and I think had McCline's knee not given out vs Valuev he would have beaten him.

All those guys are SOLID heavyweights, over 6'4 and over 240 pounds....it would be much more telling if David Haye fought one of them instead of Monte Barrett who is like Haye a little too small and a little too old to be a contender these days.


Until David Haye steps foot in the ring with a good heavyweight he's still a cruiserweight in my eyes...and an untested one at that

IMO we need to wait and see what effect Haye's punches has on a bona fide heavy, he landed flush and often against the likes of Fragomenni, Mormeck and Thompson and it took a lot of blows to break down the first two and he couldn't take out the third where other cruisers had managed to do so.

IMO Haye has a lot going for him, but his fanatics are getting way ahead of themselves, do you guys really believe he'll land one solid right on Vitali and his legs'll buckle like Maccarinelli's then he'll go into his shell? that might happen with the vulnerable younger brother, but no chance it happens to Vitali who took Lennox's best without going down.

Some good points but that was far from Lennox's best... he was well past his prime before even the Tyson fight.

It's possibly the first time this has happened but regarding Haye's chances against Vitali I'm 100% in agreement with Lyle.

I'll say it now Haye has NO CHANCE, ZERO, NONE WHATSOEVER to beat Vitali Klitschko. He would get absolutely battered inside 5 or 6 rounds.

Let's be real here, even Haye's fans are slightly concerned about him facing Mionte Barret, Barrett is seen as a risky opponent for him. Virtually everyone else at heavyweight would be seen as a risk for him too. I can't find any odds for the Haye Monte fight yet but I imagine Barret will propably be around 9/4 or 5/2 odds, similar to the odds of Roy Jones against Calzaghe.

Put Barrett in with either Klitschko and the odds would likely be about 33/1 or the same as Bruce Seldon against Mike Tyson, seriously now what does that tell you?

There is a very good chance, in fact even likely, that Haye will get knocked out even before he gets to either Klitschko so let's keep our feet on the ground just a little here.

Haye will probably get past Monte Barrett and can then look at fighting an opponent who is at least relavent to the heavyweight division (Barret isn't).

I don't see Haye getting past a slick fighter like Eddie Chambers he won't eeven get as far as challenging Vitali let alone have a chane of beating him.

Haye is not a proven top rated heavyweight. Good or not Vitali and Peter are. To say with out a doubt that Haye can even get by Barrett is baseless. If he beats Monte then we can talk about how hed do vs Vitali but for now theres nothing to go on.
