Cotto is not going to fight anyone dangerous in his next fight.

He's going to get a big payday against the Cotto-Mosley winner, so why risk blowing that chance?

You meant the winner of Margarito-SSM...

Which brings me to my next question...
    WHAT IF.........
SSM wins then what does Cotto do next?
    Does he rematch SSM?
Does he turn to something else?
If so, where does he go?

I think Cotto would probably still fight Margarito. He seems to be set on avenging that loss.

I assume he would rematch Mosley.

I've said this before, I'd like to see Cotto give 154 a go...

    Just test out the water, fight someone like;
    Yuri Foreman
    Kassim Ouma
    Derek Ennis
    Pawel Wolak
    Antonio Diaz
    Jose Antonio Rivera
    Cornelius Bundrage

Just to see how he looks/feels there and see if theres a future there.

Unless he's having trouble making weight, I'd like to see him at 147. It's a deeper division with better competition, and at the same time I'd worry about how well he'd stand up to a big puncher at 154. He might just be too short for the weight.

I agree i think he will be small at the weight. He didnt look the biggest against margarito and he lost that fight...

I think Berto will be out, because Lou DaBully doesn't want it to be for the title.

From what Bob Arum has been saying it's down to Cintron, Clottey, and Jesus Soto Karass.
I'd love to see Cotto - Clottey, Clottey's one of my favorite fighters. I think Cotto would win a convincing UD though.
I'm sorry.. but Clottey beats the breaks off of Cotto.
He is FAR too big. FAR too durable. Margi couldn't hurt him no way cotto does.
Also, if people think Margi was too big for Cotto.. then this is even worse.
Anyone remember clottey weighing 170 on fight night against Chico? LOL.
Clottey is naturally about 10-20lbs heaviar than Margi is.

I would have loved to see Cotto/Cintron. Still a very dangerous fight for cotto who many have regarded as having a suspect chin during his career. Cintron has the heaviest hands in the division. He is the Edison Miranda of Welterweight.. in the since that he is the most powerful and his only losses have been against the Champion of the division.

This is a good come back fight for cotto.

Mick, wouldn't you rather see him stay in a division like 147 that has so much more talent?

I don't think Cotto should go to 154, but I'm pretty sure he could beat most of the guys on that list, because none of them is very good.

It will be a good confidence booster for Cotto.

As for SSM beating Marg, I hope it doesn't happen as it'll just make things less clearer still, but I don't see it happening either.

Thats pretty much a carbon copy of what I been saying all along, Clottey is a big tough mofo that isint going to get broken down by Cotto, when he cant break you down his plan B is to go backward, as we saw from SSM which he boxed beautifully and peppered Shane, since Shane was running into Cotto's punches a at that point ,against Margarito he got torn to pieces.. Clottey would beat him up..

Miguel Cotto could wear down Joshua Clottey late though with body shots, remember Joshua Clottey has suspect stamina JT. Where as fighters like Shane Mosley, Antonio Margarito, have always had excellent stamina. And always finish strong late in fights.
