Do you guys remember when Dan Birmingham was the hottest trainer around, I think he even won a trainer of the year award in the run up to the Lacy Calzaghe fight.

Havn't heard shit from him since, is he still even training fighters?

But with the rumours of Khan being on the Pac Vs PBF undercard as well I ust cannot see it being possible if Haye is fighting in the Spring. I had my concerns with Roach training two fighters let alone three.
Booth has always been really switched on as a manager etc. In terms of conditioning he really knows his stuff but watching him in the corner against Valuev you could see he was limited in that aspect... good to see he's doing the right thing.

Always thought that the bloke had his head screwed on and the fact he's looking for somebody past his level shows it.

    Bang on Youngblood/Adam

Great move by Haye/Booth and it shows Booth is a wise man who wants the best possible chance for David to succeed..a rare thing in sport today if you get me.

Adam and David are top mates outside the ring and to me it just shows how much Booth wants him to have the best chance of realizing his dream in the division so kudos to the man.

I reckon Roach would love to be involved as Haye has got the speed factor sewn up against any current Heavy by a mile and Roach has proved time and time again that speed is power if used correctly and he can bring that out in a fighter.

Could be a potent force these two in league together

    Excited

Roach is one busy mofo. I don't blame him. His parkinsons is not going away - it will get worst medically speaking, and he's not getting any younger.

Think he still trains Lacy and Winky Wright. Not sure though

IMO is ONE of the best, but it's a bit overdoing it to say he's clear cut #1, when there are guys just as good or better than him (Richardson, Steward, Goosen. etc.)
I always liked Goosen as a trainer, i like his calm manner in the corner. He always gives good advice and sounds like a pretty smart guy, who know his boxing very well.

Has he ever been considered that hot? I never saw nobody praising him that much (personally). I always considered him to be a good trainer but not a nuclear force to be reckon with. He still train Winky, not sure for Lacy though. He also trained Dawson at some point but I don't know if it's still the case. I discovered he has a myspace:MySpace - Dan Birmingham - 49 - Male - SAINT PETERSBURG, Florida - myspace.com/danbirminghamboxing

and perhaps an article dating from last july that can tell a bit about what he was about at that moment, guess things changed a bit in the last 5 months but it will give you an idea:

Dan Birmingham is a quality trainer and there are tons of quality trainers out there that don't have quality fighters...I wonder if Kevin Rooney will ever rebound the biggest fighter he has had since Tyson is Pazienza and the best heavyweight he's had hasn't been all that great and more recently Leonard Pierre Anasta was a bust as well.

I think Mark Breland (trainer of Deontay Wilder) has the potential to be a very talented trainer.

He also wears those snappy Tommy Bahama shirts

Interesting on how this would play out...Would Haye fully commit to whatever Roach says and follow him or would he try to run things his way and cause Freddie aggravation? Roach has enough guys to occupy his time and would end up dis-banning the relationship if it happens....

I am not sure how Haye is outside the ring with his camp to make a real prediction...

If it did work out though it would be a great move for Haye.....I still don't seem him beating Vitali but still a good move for him

Why would he hire/pay Roach if he didn't want his input? I don't think Haye is mentally ill.

If he was the guy who used to train Corrales, then i agree.
    He was great for Chico.

Back to Roach/ Boothe... I actually thought Boothe was giving Haye some great advice. There was one piece of advice given in the mid rounds that was the difference between life and death.

I think it was along the lines of:

''If you get caught on the ropes, just fidget and then fuck him off''

You would be amazed the fighters that insist on telling the trainers what to do...

I was really speaking more on the lines of attitude...Not using Freddie as an employee but actually letting Freddie run the show in camp....

Don't think Haye has a reputation for a bad attitude. I'm sure he has tremendous respect for Freddie, especially if he's willing to pay him

Like I said I don't know of anything away from the ring....If he and Freddie do work together then it would benefit Haye for sure
