    Default City of God

Just watched this again for about the tenth time. It's my favourite film bar none.

Who else has seen it? City of Men and Elite Squad aren't bad either.

Any other World Cinema classics you like? I think we should petition to get HTH to watch it. Broaden his horizons a little

An all-time classic for sure man! Love 'City of God.'

One of my favourite international films is 'Seven Samurai' by Akira Kurosawa. Just perfection...
It would be hard enough to get HTH to watch a subtitled film by itself, but add to that the fact that it is in Black & White and I think we can safely say there is a better chance of Bilbo not being a pedophile.

Haha i'll look out for that. There are a few on here that watch subtitled films. I used to be a right snob until i bought Tell No One, not realising it was in French until i stuck it on. After about 5 minutes i forgot i was even reading the subtitles. Have you seen city of men?

City of Men was a really good film in its own right, but City of God was a total masterpiece. The kind of film that comes along once in a blue moon really!

I've been watching subtitled films for about 10 years now, since I first saw Battle Royale on a really fuzzy and poorly received transmission of Channel 4. Great film! I think Japan has one of the strongest cinematic track records in the world. The sheer number of classics I have seen from Japan is just crazy.

Yeah City of Men can't help being compared to City of God which is unfair but inevitable. Same with Elite Squad. I first saw City of God on Film 4 i think. Channel 4 and Film 4 have been pretty good lately. Timecrimes was on last week and Tony Manero was on about 3 weeks ago.

    Have you seen Sin Nombre?

I would just like to point out at this time, that it was Oggie, not I, who knew who Pedobear was and who knew where to get stacks of Pedobear images and then added them to Saddo's.

I made one comment (well ok one thread) about finding attractive a girl of legal sexual age, who IS fucking attractive by the way and once her new film comes out next month she'll be all over the news and everyone will agree with me.

She's not a little girl any more.

Nobody really thinks you're a nonce (well i don't). But it's just one of those things that will stay with you, until somebody else says something equally as funny/embarassing/noncey. It's just how life works. Lol.

Yeah sort of. Not at the end though. Actually it's not really a car chase. There's guns in it though. And sex, and violence. And a guy who looks a lot like Emmanuel Adebayor. If that doesn't swing it, then i don't know what will.

Never seen Sin Nombre man, but I think I know the film. Is it about people from a country in South or Central America (can't remember where!) making a journey to the USA as illegal immigrants? Something along those lines anyway.
