Ain't just me, a lot of forum members believe that Wlad can't hang with Holyfield, Ali, Lewis, Holmes, Tyson, etc.

I agree neither are amongst the true ATG's of the sport. BUT they are both very good by todays standards and as a boxing fan I cannot complain about it. Boxing NEEDS the hype that surrounds this fight and I am hoping that this could be the beginning of the end of the worst era in the history of the glamour division of the greatest sport on earth.
bit of whining going on on this thread
the fight is alright, im interested in it
Officially the only saddo who has had a girlfriend
Comparing Lewis with Wlad is absolutely pathetic. Where on Wlad's record are the exciting swift slaughterings of -
Ruddock
Golota
Grant
Briggs
Botha
Rahman
Morrison
Tyson
That's ignoring the dozen or more fighters Lewis annihilated.
Name one fight Wlad has shocked us all with a breathtaking performance? It Doesn't exist. Fact.
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
....Wlad beat Botha and Rahman, I'm fairly certain he'd beat the rest of those guys as well, but its a moot point because it's not Wlad's fault he doesn't have those guys to fight.
Also anyone who thinks the Mike Tyson that Lennox Lewis beat would have "posed a threat" to Wlad (and I've chosen my words carefully here) is a fucking moron
Lewis never really beat "Tyson" in my eyes. Not the Tyson I knew and loved. Was a different fighter then, still good, but not the same animal.
I think any fighter I know would struggle vs a prime Vitali. Even Wlad wouldn't be easy for anyone, especially the Wlad of today, the one that is a much better fighter than when he was getting floored.
Wlad wore down Botha in eight rounds and Rahman in seven. His performance in both fights doesn't even come close to the ruthless manner in which Lennox Lewis destroyed them (don't even try to bring up Lewis loss to Rahman because Wlad clearly beat a far fatter and ancient version).
As rjj tszyu said - the Tyson that Lewis beat would have been the most high profile and greatest win, should Wlad have won, of his career.
Now... you name the explosive performances Wlad has had that allows you to compare him so favourably with Lewis?
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
I'm not comparing them Fenster, I'm saying Wlad wins fights vs the guys in his division in his era....Wlad can't bring anyone back to fight he can only fight who is there. Explosive finishes for Wlad, well the Byrd rematch, Ray Austin, and Derrick Jefferson was a good finish too.
rjjtszyu, the Tyson that Lewis beat would get demolished by Wlad, the post prison Tyson gets beat by Wlad, and though Wlad may lose a few times to a Prime Tyson it wouldn't be easy for 'Iron' Mike to beat Wlad because of the style he fights with and the skills he possesses and sorry that's a FACT. Wlad's style always always always causes the peek-a-boo Rooney trained Tyson trouble. But feel free to disagree.
True. I can't wait for it, a heavyweight unification fight between a dominant long running champ and a loud, cocky Brit who also holds a belt. What's not to like? The buildup should be fun, get some interest in the division again and as long as the fight itself isn't farcical it should be a good thing for boxing. Surely.
