At first I was worried about the direction this was taking, but it seems to have recovered nicely.

    Give it time.

The results of the dodgy meat are yet to be established!

It tasted stunning, so it must have been ok. Smelt great when cooked. Plus I've been meat binging for ages on my Atkins, that should act as conditioning.

I am cooking up a real nice joint of boneless lamb, we bought it a little while ago and froze it. I took it out of the freezer (can't remember when) and left it in the fridge. It's now time too cook.

The meat had a slight smell to it, not too bad, but there was an odour and it was a little slimey to the touch. But it's such a good bit of meat it seems worth a go.

I'm thinking about beef that is hung for days, that essentially goes off, but we still eat it and cook it.

This meat is raw and will be blasted in the oven at a high heat. Surely that will kill the germs?!

Anyway, it's in now. But if I am about to kill myself, then please let me know!
The high heat may kill the germs but would not affect the toxins that are produced by the germs. So intense cooking will not make a bad meat safe to eat.

I'm still alive and so is the dog.

This can only mean I gave the dog one massive lump of good meat. Gutted.

    Lessons learned? Probably not

I was wondering...I've had a leg of lamb in the freezer since Christmas, and I'm pretty sure its ok, but I hadn't seen your name pop up...

The answer is when it tastes bad and you start being sick a couple of hours later.
