What would PBF vs Pac meat to boxing History?

I never though I'd be convinced Kellerman wasn't just giving lip service toward Pacquiao but after I saw this... I think its safe to say he's truly on on the bandwagon now.

Kellerman makes an interesting comment that I've not really though about but what would a Mayweather Jr. vs Pacquiao fight mean to the history of boxing?

While some say that the P4P title has no value, I beg to differ. I think it has a massive effect on many levels. It certainly affected Hatton's decisions. He walked out first in his bout with Pacquiao and even accepted a lower split.

It may be the only time in history that P4P (ranked?) fighters can actually meet in the ring because of the weight class difference. How important is this and why should it even matter?

IF the fight happens it will mark the 2nd time in P4P ranking history that #1 vs. #2 fight.

*This may also occur IF JMM-Pac III happens

Well it's funny because not too long ago people here were saying Max hated Pac because of the comments Max made after the JMM-Diaz fight.

One thing about Max is that he TRIES to stay as neutral as possible.
Like anyone else I'm sure the bias fan in us comes out but he's only human.

With that being said I really enjoy Max analysis and like the way he breaks down matchups and sorts.

I agreed with what he said after the JMM-Diaz fight and I agree with what he said last week.

So PAC vs. PBF will be P4P#1 vs. P4P#2 but GBP/MP shamelessly promoting the PBF-JMM fight as "Number One vs. Numero Uno" (being disrespectful to PAC's current status)...

You're probably barking up the right tree. If Pac wins he'll be given all his due credit. If PBF wins he'll be given the, "he should fight Mosley, Cotto, or Pac was too small." But I think we are getting too presumptous. JMM has proven he is just as good as Pac. PBF-Pac is light years away.

I think Kellerman is just a boxing fan at heart.. And he didn't sense the power of what Pac was doing until now when it's really becoming clear that the next couple of years for Pac if he continues to fight well, is really making history... I mean, Morales was a legend, but imagine he came up to as high as 147 and took on that sort of challenge.... Regardless of what you've thought of a fighter or anything else beforehand, it's impossible not to have respect and get behind what Pac is doing and it's exciting for boxing..

And Mayweather leaving the sport as undisputed P4P #1 with 0 losses, then comes back to take on the #2 P4P, which if he wins,, a matchup with Pac is pretty huge....

Exactly. Max wasn't being anti-Pac after JMM-Diaz, he would just showing respect to a great fighter (Marquez) who has often been overlooked during his career.

And he was right about Mayweather-Pacquiao, it would be the biggest fight from a skills/talent perspective since Whitaker-Chavez.
