    Default Is Bradley Overrated?

Desert Storm or fart in a sandpit ? Should he be number 1 at light welterweight ? This is the guy who refused to fight Khan saying "What if I lose then I am out the sweep-stake to fight pound for pound king Manny Pacquiao for 7.5 million dollars ?" on U.S radio. The same guy stripped of his WBC titlefor inactivity. The fighter who took 8 rounds to stop an ageing stoned Casamayor, had to resort to headbutting to beat a limited fighter in Devon Alexander and has avoided Marcus Maidana. Number 1 light welterweight and now he gets rewarded with a fight against Pacquiao. So come on enlighten me, what makes him worthy and special enough for such accolades? To me he seems limited, his defence is poor and a decent hard hitting fighter with good hand speed will expose this soon enough. He is in great condition but then so was Frank Bruno and a cut physique a great boxer does not make.

i think bradley is rated as he should be, i think he would give anyone around today on their day a run for their money

and he definately does deserve to be number one at light welter, who else would it be?

p.s. bruno is the best HW in history

Isn't everybody overrated in somebodies eyes? Now that Berto has pulled out due to injury why not make Bradley vs Ortiz.

I've never been impressed by Bradley I think he is very limited and overrated. He is just a come forward throw a lot of punches type of guy. I dont see anything special in him.

no one is painting Bradley to be an ATG, but he is just what he's advertised as a very good overall fighter who although he doesn't do anything extraordinary he does do everything well, he's hands down the #1 guy at 140 with wins over Witter, Holt, PETERSON, and Alexander it's pretty hard to dispute that, those wins shit all over Khan's wins over Kotelnik, Malignaggi, Maidana, and Judah, and his loss to PETERSON

I think he's fairly rated, he did fight some of the bests and got the win in the end. I don't know if he's top notch H.O.F material but he's definitely a very good boxer, no matter that we like or hate his style.

No, not really. He didn't "duck" Khan at all, actually it was Khan who failed when he lost to a guy Bradley beat two years prior. Khan got sucked into a gritty back and forth and let himself down. Bradleys done nothing but win and position himself to possibly fight an elite in Manny. Meanwhile Khan can dust off the shadow of Mosley and cash a huge check, and hope he doesn't get suckered into another slug fest.

I think his recent lack of activity is what is playing against him. He is slacking out when he should be stepping it up.

I've always been a Bradley fan, but I'm a little let down by his recent antics.

Witter and alexander are not good examples. Witter lost to Alexander who pretty much lost to Kotelnik who khan beat. Holt lost to Mabuza who is nothing special.
The only one you can hold over his head is Peterson. But that was such a close fight with Peterson winning with DQ points, you can not call that an easy victory.
Saying that I would still class Bradley at the top of the devision as he is undefeated and has won the majority of his fights easily. I think people only question his legitimacy because he avoided Khan.
Think he is the best fight after Mayweather. Him or Martinez anyway.

    Cause Ortiz would murder him

you're thinking of the wrong Peterson, Anthony Peterson was the one who was winning the fight and then got himself DQ'd against Rios, Lamont Peterson got his ass handed to him for nearly every round against Bradley, it was a shutout, and if you wanna play the game of disregarding Bradley's wins over Holt and Alexander well, Bradley pretty much dominated his opponents while Khan escaped by the skin of his teeth against Maidana and Peterson, beat Judah who just had been given a gift against Mattyhsse, and against Malignaggi who's biggest win was a rematch against a lightweight, overall Bradley's opponents hold more weight than Khan's

You would have to be considering bradley as p4p top 5 before you could consider him as overrated. The only flaws i see in him is a) when he gets overly aggressive, he seems to some times door from the hip and b) he definitely doesn't like it to the gut... Was showing clear distress signs against peterson imo.

I dont know why I put DQ in there. I was refering to the khan fight where the ref took two points off khan. My mistake.
Alexander was also given a gift against Mattyhsse. There is not a lot of difference in there opponents.
You were the one dissregarding Khans opponents, whrere as if you look at the people they fought there is not alot of difference. The people they have fought have all had there losses to one another, so you cant claim that Bradley has fought harder opponents. As far as Bradley beating Peterson easier and having easier wins over all. I stated that in my first post and that is why I said I would still put Bradley at the top.
Just that other people may have had Khan above him because Bradley avoided him.
Being a Bradley fan as well as a Khan fan I was dissapointed when Bradley did not have a better excuse for not fighting Khan, would have been a good fight. Seems he was not confident about fighting him as he could lose his chance to fight Pac or Mayweather.
