Okay, one response to that post as you asked nicely. I am saying that mental illness is a mixture of nature and nurture. There is a mental health epidemic. I will keep it as simple as that. Traits get passed down generically and they then frequently get passed on environmentally. Either way you end up with generational complications. The problem grows rather than diminishes. I am reading a fascinating book about it. It extrapolates well to describe serious mental health problems we have in society. 50% of all substance abusers have an underlying mental health condition. How many people abuse alcohol or drugs. It's a lot of people. I could go on, but it really moves away from acid attacks, but gangs are of course often made up of very messed up young people. Eugenics? FFS, you are weird saying things like that.

The Bell Curve = Eugenics. Stefan the sociopath Molyneaux = Eugenics. You have quoted from both. You are suggesting that there are clear links between genes and intelligence across the forum. It's not weird to point this out Miles. You are now extrapolating grand theories from studies of a small range of conditions. What is the book you are reading? I am not suggesting it is Mein Kampf just asking.

I haven't quoted either, but have suggested that there are IQ differentials between races and cultures. Again, I am no expert, but what I have read makes sense. I am not interested in feelings when it comes to these things, I am just interested in if it is true or not. I treat anyone I come across as an individual and they can be either above, below, or just average in intelligence. It really doesn't matter to me. I think it does matter when opening your borders though as we are not all the same. It is one factor among many. You have this habit of making blanket assertions about me and it is unfortunate. I think automatically you jump onto racism, misogyny and eugenics and I think that is a shame really. A calm, rational person wouldn't always do that.

I have an interest in mental health obviously and tend to read a lot of things written by psychologists. I find it a very interesting field and I think by learning about such things you can also discover more about yourself. The book name shall remain a secret though as I am a paranoid type and possibly doomed to a tragic end. Thankfully the only gang I ever joined was the Baggin's Clan. I even changed my name to bloody Gandalf.

How do you define a broken family?

Absent father or mother, divorce, homelessness, junkie parents, alcoholic parents, physical and emotional abuse, neglect, incest, those kinds of things.

Take the woman next door in the UK. 3 kids, 3 different Dads, mother on benefits letting the kids run riot while she smokes weed all day. That's not good. Then next door with us lot and our tragic back story. I won't talk about about it all with my family as it gets too screwed up. It really is everywhere. Even when the parents do not break up look at the horror Brock went through. We are creating a really bad situation. You really don't get so much of this in other societies. Why have kids if you are not going to be there for them? Why bother? We see with the rise of STD's that people are willing to sleep with anyone and unfortunately this is where all too many kids come from. Then we wonder why there are so many damaged kids. You bring up the single mother rate in black communities and the first thing you hear is 'racist'. It's not cool.

Yes, a child not having caring parents who provide love, education and good role model.

I would not say because you have an absent parent that the family is broken.

I would say that it is a broken family. A child needs a good male role model. Of course it is a tragedy if the Dad dies at war or of cancer, but all too many men abandon their kids and at a formative age. Trust me, when your mother is unable to give you connection and your Dad walks out on you and never ever tries to contact you again when you are 10 you are in a broken family. I am not being racist when I point this out. My experiences are no different than many black people. I know what it is like to grow up in an emotional prison like that. It's an all too common thing unfortunately.

But you have never thrown acid over anyone and I expect the children of the neighbor back home you are talking about have not either. So? I know more people whose parents divorced in the 70's than stayed together but the overwhelming majority of them are not criminals and don't use it as an excuse. I was once sucker punched, knocked out from a blow to the back of the head and the twat that did it blamed it on his parents divorcing when he was a teenager ffs. Personal responsibility. Fucking blame culture started with kids born in the 80s and under the influence of America. The real Satan.

Just sounds like life mate. You did well for yourself while many people from stable two parent homes fuck up their lives big style. I bet that you looked good on the dance floor 😜

I was so disturbed by trauma after my first lovely girlfriend leaving me for someone older and cooler I decided to erase myself and start again. My best mate was gay so now was I and every night we were out taking drugs and sometimes other things happened. There was a time my gay friend caught me in bed with a gay friend of his. Strange considering I am not gay. 'I couldn't believe you would do that! he said. I could handle being the man in that situation. However it wasn't me and that probably caused identity issues. Instead I lost myself in lots and lots of drugs. I really became something quite wild. And boy could you dance because of those drugs.

My friend is still doing all that in London now. I don't know how he does it. As a comfortable straight man, I am happy to have a woman I love and that is all I need. But still those childhood traumas creep and we know they will never leave, but I will just be the best person I can be.

Had a bad pill addiction for many years, a legal kind. And that went on for a long time. Even now lots of pills on stock ready for the big S. Only joking, just as needed. But for sure I was an addict to something for 15 years.

All these things go back to childhood trauma. My sister played out in very different ways. Think she was a gran at 34. It continues generation after generation. That Dad is an idiot too. Mum works all day, emotionally gone gran helping on weekend. I look on and get the chills.

I am not becoming a Dad. I am too old anyway now.
So there is hope for me
