It really looked like a sparring session with Mosley touching gloves after every round.

Well that's just sad. Mosley has always been one of the best warriors in boxing, no quit in him. If he couldn't do anything it's a testament to Manny's speed and power and the fact that sadly Shane is not the force he was.

He tried his best, realised he couldnt win and chose to go the distance rather than get knocked out for your viewing pleasure.

But Mosley is a legend of the sport and a very proud man. If he could have won that fight he would have.

no, shane did not try at all. theres a big difference in actually trying and not doing anything at all. no, shane did not try at all at this, or the gayweather fight.
manny wasn't that great saturday and woulda got clocked if he had someone with courage in there. mosely was one of my favorites, thats why im shocked to see him not even try.

He tried his best? What fight were you watching? I was starting to wonder if he broke his right hand in the middle rounds, he stepped back to draw Pac into his power shot and didn't pull the trigger, either A. he hurt his hand or B. he was worried about the counter. either way he definitely didn't try his best. He stalled with the high fives which were completely unwarranted to simply survive.

No, Mosley definitely didn't try his best. You don't throw your best punch only seven times in the fight. You don't reduce your typical output by more than half. He threw 700 plus punches against Cotto and showed energy even in losing. Here there was no output, no energy....zilch. It was a sad way to go out.

Well, when have you ever seen Mosley fight like that before? Sure Manny is great, but even David Diaz came to fight. Mosley simply didn't put up a fight and he knows it. He knew he would be gassed if he ever opened up and that Manny would have got him. It makes a mockery of the fight ever being made.

Post fight he was trying to save some face. Cotto and Margarito were far more impressive than this IMO, they tried to win rounds. They failed, but they tried. Mosley threw 5 combinations in this fight and about 7 right hands. That is pretty shocking.

Joshua Clottey like Mosley didn't tried to win rounds also. What do you think is the reason for this?

Is it purely about Shane and Clottey? or maybe something else?

They both lost before they entered the ring. Both mentally and in the case of Mosley physically too. They decided to take the money and vanish into the sunset. Clottey hasn't been seen since and Mosley will likely retire too.

The ones who took the fight to him want to continue fighting.

Pacquiao vs. Mosely match finished with Manny's big winning.
Manny 'Pacman' Pacquiao continued his dominance over the boxing world Saturday night, easily outpointing Shane 'Sugar' Mosley and retaining his WBO welterweight championship in a unanimous decision victory. Pacquiao won on scores of 119-108, 120-108, and 120-107, as Mosley retreated and simply couldn’t generate anything offensively.

    Great job Pacquiao.

Well if you look at my thread pre fight you would see why Mosley never had a chance in this fight. Shane made $5mil and established a promo company, he was never going to be a force in the fight.

The fight was actaully very entertaining after Mosely's non-KD in the 10th.

Pac then went all-out for the KO and this provided some manufactured drama. It wasn't real drama, like SRL chasing Hearns while behind on all scorcards, but Pac at least had a purpose. Mosley certainly proceeded to Usain Bolt all over the place, but Pac reached him at times.

Pac deserves credit for taking that risk. Moselyu may be old but power is last to go. So that is danger. Frankly, he took risks earlier in the fight. I mean, he alomst KOed Mosely, who has never been stopped and on top of that was runnning since round 1. Thats no small feat. In the last 3 rounds he just picked up the pace.

The tight leg sounds real and explains why Pac looked a littel off. He wasn't as rythmic and appeared to resort back to a straigthforward approach, dropping his more unorthodox angles and movement. But at the end of the day he dominated a HOFer, Kded him, and came close to KOing. Thats a hell of an off-night.

The 10th round was also the highlight of the fight for me too.

Pacquiao got so pissed off with the bad KD call... and Mosely knew it was a shitty call too! lmfao.

Man, all of this hating on Mosely is unpleasent to watch. I think many of you are exaggerating. There are other recently past fights where we got to witness much better examples of not trying by fighters who were not already nearly 40 years old.

Let's see... Audley Harrison.... Kevin Johnson... stuff like that.

But in this case, people have said it again and again before this fight regarding Mosley's performance against Mayweather and Mora.
Obviously many of you are just disappointed that Pac did not get the KO/TKO for which you had been hoping.

As for me, I'm perfectly ok with seeing Shane, tossed to the lion, make it out without serious damage in a fight hardly anyone figured he would win anyway.
