(The latest trailer) http://a1834.g.akamai.net/7/1834/669...BAL_t2_lrg.mov The greatest underdog story of our time is back for one final round of the Academy Award-winning "Rocky" franchise, former heavyweight champion Rocky Balboa steps out of retirement and back into the ring, pitting himself against a new rival in a dramatically different era. After a virtual boxing match declares Rocky Balboa the victor over current champion Mason "The Line" Dixon, the legendary fighter's passion and spirit are reignited. But when his desire to fight in small, regional competitions is trumped by promoters calling for a rematch of the cyber-fight, Balboa must weigh the mental and physical risks of a high profile exhibition match against his need to be in the ring.

HOLLYWOOD - Sylvester Stallone regrets signing up to make a sixth Rocky movie, and wishes he had listened to his wife's protests when he was initially offered the role.
Jennifer Flavin burst into tears when the 60-year-old revealed he would be reprising his role as boxing champ Rocky Balboa, because she was worried about the strain a rigorous training routine would have on him.

And Stallone admits she may have been right. He says, "She was absolutely right. I mean, she was just defending her husband from what actually was a totally crazy idea, but now she likes it."

Stallone was convinced to take the role because the last film was such a disappointment. He adds, "I know Rocky V disappointed a lot of people. I felt the same way about it and that was gnawing away at me every time people said to me they liked the first four but...

"When the option of Rocky VI came up I thought the time was right to do another one, just to make sure it was finished properly. That's just what life is like."
I disagree with the idea Rocky 5 sucked. I thought it showed the truthful side of boxing like the very first movie did. In the first Rocky, it showed that long shots have a chance and the movie was based on the Ali-Wepner fight. Wepner was not a real contender but a journeyman that Ali gave a chance to fight for the title. In number 5 Rocky showed that many champions end up just as broke as before, due to screwing up their finances. I have also heard of fighters getting into it with their trainers and the trainers winning. (I saw it in the golden gloves when I was an amateur boxer in 1983)

    Hey jbirdy,

Mike Tyson was about 16 years old and unknown when Rocky 3 came out in 1982. They did not base Clubber Langon Tyson.

Dude Rocky III came out in like 1982 before anyone knew who tyson was. Clubber Lang was based on Ernie Shavers, a huge powerpuncher from that time who actually was supposed to play Clubber (the part had been written essentially FOR Shavers) had he not gotten so aggressive during prefight "sparring" with Stallone and busted the Italian Stallions ribs up. After that SLy decided to get an actor instead who knew a little bit about fighting, hence Mr. T. But yeah, if i was given a chance to do a porno with Jenna J or get my ass beat on film by an aging geriatric Rocky, it would sound like bawwwn-chicka-wahhhhwwwahhhhhh-bom-ba-bom ba- bawwwn-chicka wowww-woww-wahwahwahhhh (my best text impression of porno music, sad i know). But yeah. Tyson was never a basis for Lang's character, but he would have made a really cool Rocky VI opponent. They should have used him and then dubbed Darth Vader or Samuel L's voice in for Mike's lispy oompa loompa voice. That woulda been tight.

In that interview, why would Stallone regret making rocky 6 after it was made? Then it is a waste for us to go see it if he thinks it is not good enough for him to have made it. I liked Rocky one and Rocky 3.. All the others were ridiculous The Clubber Laing fight was idiotic as well since Rocky learns to stick and move by Apollo Creed because Clubber punches too hard, yet then he fights Drago who probably would punch harder than Clubber, yet he goes right at him in the fight.. Just alot of nonsense to Rocky movies. Of coarse it is just a movie since a guy like Rocky Balboa would not have won the title and defended it after having been a club fighter..

"It ain't over till it's over."

    "Whats that the 80's?"

    "More like the 70's"

    --Corny as hell

... but when I think about it tons of good movies have corny lines. "Consider that a divorce."

I'm excited.... so ... that I said out loud I'd bring my boxing gloves to the theatres.

Rocky was a movie for the 70s. I cannot say that got me into boxing. Hagler/Hearns/Leonard and Duran got me into boxing. Just a special time. A boxing movie is great but not real and I did like Million Dollar Baby if it were not for more ridiculous things how they skip from starting off to winning a title. But that movie was ok. . Rocky one was good and Rocky 3 I liked since he became buddies with Apollo Creed. As for real boxing, Those 4 legends of the 80s were real. Rocky came along at a good time and the screenplay for that first movie was great. It is hard to make a movie later after he is famous because the famous part makes the thing unrealistic. We cannot relate to famous since most of us are not famous. Now this movie here he is coming back after 30 years and fighting the champ who I suspect he beats since the movie wouldn't be that great if he lost. Stallone is a great actor no doubt but he is on the decline as happens to anyone, so reclaiming the Rocky role makes sense for him. I mean George Foreman and Thomas Hearns fought into their 40s.

you think he loses? maybe you have some information I do not. I just figure that he wins this fight. Why would he be like the Foreman fight and lose? I predict he wins since I do not know anything of the result..
