Chino... I don't think Oscar's got the "cojones" to get in the ring with Cotto.
    TitoFan,
Hahahaha! Well, look at Oscar's resume, has he ducked anybody? Probably one of the best resumes out there at the moment.

Mayweather vs. Delahoya 2 would be a great match up of skill and technique (again) but probably not so entertaining for the people who prefer brawls as opposed to the science of boxing.
    FrozenSolid,
Exactly. I think people were expecting an Erik vs. Barrera - Vazquez vs. Marquez - Carbajal vs. Gonzalez kind of thing but we are talking about 2 of the smartest boxers out there, Mayweather and ODLH. The fight was not full of fireworks for many boxing fans but at least for me it was EXCITING and enjoyed every minute of it. Both guys being cautious. Far far far from what many people say that ODLH got completely dominated, punished, stepped on, annihilated, destroyed, humiliated, etc.

THere is a difference between diehard, and brain dead... die hard fans though Dela Hoya made a good showing of himself, brain dead fans thought Dela Hoya won... Half the people in the crowd didn't even realize they were fighting for Oscar's 154 pound belt which goes to show the overall knowledge of the people at the fihgt... As for the truth of it, at most he won half as many rounds as Mayweather.

I like both Brawls and technical boxing matches.

Thing was in this fight.. what was there for even a technical fan to appreciate ?

Floyds amazing defence ? -he was so far away from all the punches most the time that it wasn't fun to watch at all. It wasn't like in e.g. the nDou or Corley fights where he has that amazing crab defence type thing, ducking and blocking everything. Or even in the Baldomir fight where the slipping etc was just so fast it was amazing , the way he used the elbows etc, I love to watch that,

De la Hoyas attacks ? - Yea , great to watch the 8 or so times this happened, I was very excited when he was throwing those flurrys at Floyd on the ropes, but it happened not frequently enough to make a good viewing

Hey Macho, I'm not bad at all, Hope you are well.
I wasn't aware he had wanted the fight with Cotto earlier, thanks for telling me!
I thbik Oscar can get a beig purse no matter who he fights, his name attracts fans who normally have little interest in the sport and even fighting Forbes I presume he'll make a substantial profit.

Now, I like Oscar, I thought he was an exciting fighter in his prime. But I will be supporting Miguel Cotto should this fight happen.

Hi hitmandonny , you know what, i share your opinion because if ODLH would have the same style , strategie and phisical condition when he fought with Trinidad , i will say that maybe he will win to Cotto by his speed , movement , combination , double shot of jab , everything that mean boxing , but now i see that he change something of his style like more tense or tight ,less speed , toe to toe and we know that he have hard shot , but with an opponent like Cotto is too risky for do that , so is like what you said he was an exciting fighter in his Prime .

    I agree Macho,
If you add on the fact that Oscar has been seen to fade down the stretch in his recent fights and that Miguel seems to get stronger I believe that Miguel Cotto could actually have a chance of Stopping De la Hoya late.

I dont know Bro, Cotto was the one letting his foot off the gas and Mosely was stronger down the stretch despite absorbing alot of punishment

I saw that too. But it's a funny enough thing, I don't think that was triggered by Miguel tiring from his own output.

I think it had more to do with the body shots that Mosely sank in after the eighth. I don't think they hurt Miguel seriously, but they had the desired effect and slowed him somewhat.

True, I just think Oscar is a smarter fighter who picks his shots alittle bit better not to mention Delahoya would be bigger than Cotto at 147 as well.. If Oscar isint weight drained then he will be the sturdier stronger fighter..

Bit harsh don't ya think.Anyway the 50 or so people I've seen it with at the bar in Philly. All thought Oscar won.So I guess all of us were brain dead. Most people I talked to said the same thing."When you have to fight the champion you go and get the belt not pot shot him and run away".Are point's were very similiar but everyone in the boards here and around all thought it was a landslide for Mayweather something I just couldn't grasp.
