SO this is very interesting, The Ring (Oscar's magazine) has printed this article saying we (the public) know Oscar's not at the top of his game anymore but although he's not one of the games elite, there are still fights out there that make sense. They list the following:

    Felix Trinidad
    Shane Mosley
    Julio C. Chavez Jr.
    Zab Judah
    Ike Quartay

So this is a two part question

    A. Are any of these fights worth making?
    B. IS Oscar using the magazine to try to lure these fighters into the ring?

If De La Hoya fights on, here's 5 opponents he might consider

oscar de la hoya should retire in my opinion. hes just not got it anymore. It baffles me to think he still commands the big pay days.

It's time to retire and stick to making fights as a promoter only!

I'd love to see him fight Cotto or Mayweather again. I need to prove something about ODLH.

    Yes, Oscar must fight again.

I'm going with JCC Jr. and I think that's the fight they're looking at.

I think he might fight Chavez Jr too. Problem is I see him beating Jr and then thinking he is the top dog in boxing again which will only lead him into another crushing defeat. RETIRE NOW.

I see it going both ways. If Chavez Jr. beats him, he might also think he’s the top dog for beating ODLH forgetting that ODLH is passed his prime. It happens all the time whenever someone beats a big name regardless of that big name being passed his prime. Fans seem to forget that.

Oscar has to fight atleast once more cuz he cant end a great career by getting stopped by a little man

He has to redeem his reputation as best he can and at light middleweight

Chavez Jnr makes most sense. I wouldnt advise he goes anywhere near Sugar Shane again.

Let Oscar carry on and make a mug of himself because his ego cannot accept that he is a shell of a fighter was never that great anyway.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.

Oscar De La Hoya is just being charitable and nice with young prospects by helping them build their resumes.

Imagine yourself as a young prospect out there with a resume that says "<insert your name> vs Oscar De La Hoya - UD or KO/TKO" looks impressive regardless of Oscar being old, passed his prime, worned out, etc. People will just see his name and ignore all the facts about his condition when you fought him.

He should stay away from JC Jr. if he wants mexican fans on his side. Oscar will beat him easily
but will lose more mexican public, he has fought hard to get accepted this route will only hurt him more

I agree its time to call it a day. Taking nothing away from Pac but the ODLH that fought Trinidad at WW would have destroyed him IMO.
That DLH ran in the last quarter.

29 year old PAC beats DLH of any age.

    Pacquiao already beat DLH Fact.
