Sturm vs Macklin

I like Macklin in the third round too. 30-27. Sturm coming alive though. So far, and there's a lot to go, but there is nothing in Sturm that makes me think he can beat Sergio Martinez.

Runde 4

Macklin sweeps a left hook and misses wide. Sturm getting on his feet now using his jab to keep distance. Macklin works his way in again, Sturm with a hook to the body then head have good effect. Sturm works forward, big right hook from Macklin, Sturm goes to the jab, solid right from Sturm. Guard to guard. Sturm works a combo off the jab, and Macklin tries to repay the favor. Macklin just touching around guard, another nice right from Macklin. This round is up for grabs with 30 seconds left. big right uppercut from Sturm, Sturm starting to pinpoint Macklin's head. gave that to Sturm have it even now

Problems for me with the Epix stream in that last round. From what I've seen though, 4-0 Macklin.

Not a bad fight, it would be fun to see Macklin pull off the upset. i've got Macklin up 3-1 in rounds after 4.

Macklin 4-1. Sturm's best round, but he looks tired.

Runde 5

Macklin touching the guard with a jab. left hook from sturm straightens out Macklin. back to measuring for Macklin, Sturm gets his jab going again. Strong left from Sturm, Macklin replies by winging a few hooks. Sturm backs him off with the jab a possible clash of heads. Sturm starts and then lets off the gas. 3 right hands from Sturm, Macklin continues to press. Macklin has lost some steam now, but hasn't lost any will. Macklin closes strong, tough round to score, gonna side with Macklin here.

Macklin pops a measuring jab, Sturm presses back with a stronger jab. Macklin still trying to sneak it in between the guard. Sturm's mouth starting to open now. left to the head for Sturm, Macklin on the assault now and Sturm backing off finally. Sturm trying to wing a right hook, Macklin proceeds forward. Macklin adds more pressure, counter right from Macklin lands well. Macklin still working hard. Sturm lands a left to the body overhand right from Sturm, Macklin is feeling this now and his eyes are starting to swell. Back to evens for me

Sturm for the first time doesn't take the center of the ring. Macklin pressuring, Sturm lands a left uppercut. Macklin doing feints Sturm lands a beautiful double jab. Macklin putting more effort into his jabs now. 1-1-2 for Macklin. Macklin landing some very effective lefts and Sturm backs up into the ropes. a minute to go. Macklin winging his way in, but right from Sturm, Macklin goes right back on the attack. Sturm not giving any answers. Good round for Macklin

Sturm comes out pumping the jab, Macklin tries to move, more jabs from Sturm. Macklin tries to work, but sturm tames him with a 1-2. Macklin lands two jabs. Strong jab from Sturm. Macklin goes to the body again. Sturm goes back to his jab, nice hook from Macklin. Sturm left hook jab jab it all lands. Macklin walking back in. Right uppercut from Sturm. Jab from Sturm, little hopping jabs from Macklin. left to the body from Macklin opens upstair. Sturm returns with a left to the body and a jab. another tough round to score. Give it Macklin as he closed stronger

Macklin goes direct to the attack again body body body. Sturm lands a jab and shortens up some punches that land. Mackllin back on the attack. Sturm assaults with some vicious jabs. Macklin undeterred continues coming forward. Macklin slow combo, but some punches are coming through, Sturm knocks out Macklin's mouth piece. Macklin gets a replacement. Macklin starting to hurt Sturm now. Straight right catched Macklin. Macklin back on the attack with a solid uppercut. Jab from Sturm and Macklin piles on more pressure.

Macklin is going to need to wins rounds convincingly if he expects to get a decision and take the title from Sturm in Germany.

The fight is starting to seem even after Macklin looked good in the early rounds, I've got Macklin up in rounds 5-4 after 9.

Macklin starts at a more measured pace and Sturm punishes him with a 1-2-1. Macklin goes back inside, now Macklin working from range. Strong right from Sturm. Back inside for macklin. Right hand for Sturm snaps the head back, but Macklin keeps coming. Sturm starting to make a stand turning with the jab to good effect. Macklin lands a beauty of an uppercut seems to hurt Sturm, Sturm lands a sold right Macklin right back into the Fray. They trade at the bell nice round. Macklin round

Macklin right back on the attack, more urgency from Sturm with some jabs, Macklin fights fire with fire. Sturm works the jab. and a combo. Macklin comes forward more. Sturm taps a jab . A moment for these guys to size each other up, Macklin back on the attack. Sturm land some heavy lefts. Macklin comes right back on the attack. Macklin lunging left hook lands. Right upper from Sturm, left hook from Macklin. trading in the center, Macklin working hard still Sturm breathing very heavy now. ending in a clinch. I don't think Sturm has the reserves to save this even if the judges save him

A battle of Jabs some hard rights from Sturm. Macklin finally looking tired. Sturm takes advantage popping out some jabs, and Macklins back more pressing more body shots. Sturm trying to counter, but getting outlanded 3-1. Strong jab counter from Sturm lands. Macklin's back again pressing working, throwing. left upper from Sturm, Macklin keeps coming. 15 seconds left. Sturm starts pounding wayy to late and Macklin's hurt, but the bell rings and he's on his feet. Sturm round on the near knockdown.

I have to think if Sturm put them together earlier he could have at least got a knockdown.
Overall very good fight, high volume constant action
