For a guy that hypes up Roy's resume and slates Floyd's, you are remarkably lacking in background knowledge on your hero's peers.
Collins was regarded by many as the number two fighter at 168lbs in late '95 behind Roy. Naturally Roy opted to fight former 140lb contender Vinny Paz instead.
DM was always brought up as the second best, not Collins.

Roy fought everyone that was available at the time ... he's not like Mayweather who conveniently decides its time to "retire" or take a "vacation" every time a new challenger arises, like Cotto back in 06/07. Mayweather decided not to fight Margarito for $8M and paid him $750K in "step aside" money.
DM was #2 at 175lbs. Collins was #2 at 168lbs as Bob stated. Where you cryogenically frozen in the 90's?

By DM, I assume you mean Darius Michalczewski, who didn't have a single fight at 168lbs.

Floyd paid his way out of a contract with Arum because Arum was fleecing him of money, and refused to consider the Oscar fight as he wanted Cotto (Are you aware of the Golden boy-Arum feud?)
I'll quote Arum here "That's not in the cards," Arum said. "He wants $20 million for the De La Hoya fight? It's not there. Sometimes, my man, you gotta know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em. We'll talk about things down the road."
Floyd fought Oscar in his next fight as a free agent, making $25 million. Arum also stated he would offer Floyd Hatton and Cotto, but that those fights were only $7 million each for Floyd. Floyd followed up the Oscar win with the Hatton fight, and made $25 million. Floyd eventually fought Cotto for $40 million.
Haven't you noticed after the split with Top Rank he never fought one of their fighters again? You're very naive if you think it is simply a matter of one fighter not wanting to fight another out of fear of losing.

Just to add to this point, does Tysonbomb believe Margarito had a hope in hell of beating Floyd Mayweather Jr? I remember back in the day when people were saying Floyd was "scared" of Tony and I just found the whole thing laughable. At the time, Tony had the least important belt and hadn't beaten a 'big name' that solidified his status. Floyd would have boxed his ears off.
