de la hoya did'nt have nothing on prime JCC prime he just wanted to boost his ego by defeting a legend and in the second fight DLH's face didnt look that pretty.

and JCC did'nt get lucky with taylor he straigth wooped his a$$ 1st fight 12th rnd KO and 2nd fight i 8th round TKO i dont call that luck.

And u guys make it sound like chavez wouldnt even get to touch PBF, sh1t once he started landing a couple of those precise hooks to the liver it did'nt matter who it was they all felt them.

The Black Mamba would of caused Lil Floyd problems had they met at their best at 130lbs...

Roger Mayweather at hsi best was a very good fighter

Lil Floyd would not have enough to beat primed 130lbs Chavez IMO.

And what bridge are you selling

JT, in the picture I am holding a beer....the broom would have been over the line, hahaha

Layne and LaStarza were tougher opponents than anyone Tyson fought and Marciano was ALWAYS the underdog! Unlike Tyson

Dempsey fought and beat: Sharkey (a young contender), Carpentier (top rated lightheavyweight), Jess Willard, Gibbons and Firpo

Tyson's chin was very good but as you can see with most of his fights when his offense faded a little during a fight, his defense went too. What's the difference between Holyfield's big right hand and Rocky's Suzy Q What's the difference between Dempsey and Tyson? HONESTLY!

Mind you Tyson was not THAT much bigger or stronger than Marciano and Dempsey...a power puncher is a power puncher and at some point in time the weight would not matter as much...I'm not saying Pacquiao or Bruce Lee could punch like George Foreman but hell Earnie Shavers was 6'1 205 and did het hit hard As hard as let's say a 7'0 325 pound Nicolay Valuev

You make some real good points.. ... Layne and Lastarza, Sharkey, Carpentier, Willard, Firpo... Jesus christ, you realize that athletes have gotten better in the last 75 years... Make whatever stupid deductions you like about heart and all that BS, as if Rocky or Dempsey ever faced an athlete anywhere near the leauge of a prime Tyson.. Those would be the most ridiculous mismatches, and if you honestly believe otherwise I don't think you know a damn thing about boxing.

Sure they have that's why Babe Ruth and Albert Pujols scored the EXACT SAME on their friggin test invented to test reflexes, hand eye coordination, etc. (and if athletes are better in boxing surely they are better in BASEBALL and other sports too)

Yeah athletes sure have gotten better...there are 50 times more guys that hit as hard as Foreman, Shavers, Dempsey etc.

Fine Tyson would beat EVERYONE...is that what you want to see me type

If athletes have gotten so much better how come everyone still considers either Ali or Joe Louis "THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME" and not Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis, or any more current figure in the heavyweight division....and who knows nothing about boxing

    YOU buddy

    GREATEST figures in their sports

Baseball: Ruth, Cobb, Young, Williams, DiMaggio, Mantle, Gibson

Basketball: Robertson, Jordan, Marovich, (lots of GREATS in the 80's not as many now)

Football: Unitas, Brown, Butkis, Sayers, Campbell, Hamm, Lambert, Greene, Olsen, Deacon Jones

Boxing: Ali, Louis, Robinson, Johnson, Langford

I can do other sports if you like

Hockey: Orr, Hull (Bobby, not Brett), Richard, Dennis Potvin, Gordy Howe

You, Lyle, have a right to your illusions... All those great's you mention, are just that, greats... Athetes who achieved great things in their time... But that's the key part, in THEIR time. Athletes have gotten better... Your saying because Babe Ruth got as many Home runs as Barry Bonds or Griffy Jr or anyone else, he was therefore equal, but you forget that the pitcher would have been half the athlete as well, and as a matter of fact fuck baseball or any other sport, sheerly talking about boxing here... Dempsey, or Marciano, never faced anyone who was half of what a prime Tyson was, and all you do is make ridiculous comparisons to try and state otherwise.. Tyson would have KO'ed both of them clean, straight unconcious right on the canvas... That has nothing to do with heart or grit, their jaws would have simply gone a little to far to one side as both of them were practically average defensively.

Getting off the Topic here I know that there are to many athletes to mention in other sports....

I always thought that Football Players and Basketball players epitomize what an athlete is....My favorite Football Player of alltime has to be Walter Payton....I am not a Bears fan at all but a Giants Fan allthough Walter was a special athlete...Good field presence, Speed,Power and determination(God Bless his Soul) I feel as a Fan the Sports Gods ripped us all off by Bo Jacksons career being cut short by Injuries..

Well in basketball Michael Jordan.......It took me till Jordan was in the Twilight of his career to admit my admiration for him being a Knicks fan I hated him sticking it in our azz everyyear come playoff time but he was probably IMO one of the few specially gifted athletes that did it all right and totally fulfilled his potential to magical proportions he never let drugs, money, fame derail him and stifle his performance a genuinely nice guy...

Baseball Its hard for me to pick an alltime great, since here in the USA baseball is hallowed in many respects and to me is the greatest game played on earth but I will tell you my current great and favorite...I am a Yankee Fan and have been one for over 20 yrs and have suffered through the Mel Hall, Hensley Mulens, Andy Hawkins,Oscar Azokar era..LOL I like Derek Jeter...Because he is a winner PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!! He might not hit over 30 HR's and drive in 100Rbi's but he is as clutch as anyone who ever came to play the game he has the intangibles of a winner and makes the plays on defense hustling 100000000% and dependable 90000000000000% of the time a true leader..

I dont follow Hockey or Soccer

Random remarks but I felt like rambling

Babe Ruth was also a pretty damn good pitcher and Pitchers back then would win 30 games in a SHORTER season.

Also being a Psychology student there is this concept of people have higher IQ's (much like you consider strength or power, or athletic ability) it's called "The Flynn Effect" and while tests on IQ show this rise is in effect it has been proven difficult to really prove 100% true.

WHY you ask well I'll tell you why

On the IQ scale people from past generations such as: Einstien, Newton, Galelieo, Edison, DaVinci, etc would be basically institutionalized unable to dress themselves or feed themselves if put in this era.

Now you take away the microwave oven, cars, etc...life is life but these guys would be HELPLESS. They would go from GENIUS to RETARD in no time which is why it's a THEORY and not a fact. I mean by this rational I am smarter than Einstien and you are too...and some 5 year old in Bamf, Canada too

And I take "The Flynn Effect" into my thought process when thinking about sports too.

Babe Ruth didn't lift weights, he drank too much, he ate too much, he smoked....and still hit 714 for a career and 60 in one SHORT season as well as hitting a lifetime .342 as well as winning 94 wins as a pitcher and posting a 2.24 ERA.

Could Pujols, Bonds, or anyone else post those numbers without roids, or weights, or having a healthy lifestyle

Also note today's pitching has been stretched thin, EXPANSION is a HUGE deal when considering history.

But anyways, I'm going to drop this, you just have your little opinion and I'll have mine and we'll just move along

Can you do me a favor and post a link to a source saying how a reflex test proves a baseball player from 80 years ago compares to a hitter today who faces pitchers who throw 20mph faster?

But how are we going to convince Mayweather to fight Chavez in the first place! You know, Chavez reputation's much more scarier than Margarito's.
Once in awhile, get outside in fresh air, take a deep breath & with a deep sigh, let out all the things that's bottled up inside you & be free, & you'll get a glimpse of nirvana.

    A) pitchers don't throw faster today

    B) The spitball was still in effect when Babe was playing

    C) The "dead ball era" was when Babe hit his homeruns...old women in New England made the baseballs not machines!

    NEXT!
