    Ricky Hatton is a disgrace.
Give me a break, guys like you wouldn't be impressed if Hatton kncoked him out with his cock.
Of course we wouldn't it was Juan Urango, who all along we had said was a very slow and
simple, very easy to figure out.
Going by that description, how the fuck was Jeff Lacy favourite to beat Joe calzaghe.

Urango actually impressed me last night. He'l be champ again.
Lacy was favored, because he was hyped up by HBO, had legitimately won his titles.
And had never fought anyone with a losing record. IMO Lacy was overhyped, I am not changing
my opinion you will not find ANY posts I made stating that Lacy would beat Calzaghe.
Slow strong fighters are never the recognized champs.

What exactly did Urango do that impressed you?

It wasn't just HBO who hyped him up. Plenty of guys on here did that job just as well as HBO. I wasn't refering to you in particular. What i was sayin was 'how was Urango who IMO is no different from Jeff Lacy such a massive underdog, when Jeff Lacy was heavily touted to beat Calzaghe?' There aint much different between the 2 fighters. If anything Urango showed better technique than Lacy.

Urango's handspeed impressed me. He was much faster than most guys had made out on here. His power was clearly very good. His chin was awesome and he was very strong. Like i said those aspects of his game impressed me. He's a very dangerous fighter.
CC bro, I am enjoying the debate with you.

I saw Urango as slow and unable to throw more than two punches in a row. He had a great 5th round, and followed up with nothing. He does have a very similar fighting style to Lacy, and is about as limited. To answer the odds thing, hype is huge, odds move based on peoples perceptions of the fighters and change as people actually lay money down.
Lacy (who I agree with you btw as far as abilities go) had a huge fan base and was an HBO fighter. Urango didn't even get shown on the previews for the fight. If Urango had a following like Lacy did (he was on Fight Night by EA sports) or was American, the odds would have been significantly differently EVEN though his skill level would not have changed.
All in all, he does have a decent beard, and some power, but I can't see him ever being a champ, too slow, not active enough..................
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

I feel the fight was SO boring i cant believe i stayed up for that sh*t,
as a former hatton fan (was impressed with the win over kostya but has failed to impress me since) i feel that guy was way to strong for hatton (just too slow) and if he'd have taken a few more of those body shots that he obviously hated so much he would have been on the floor.
Towards the end of the fight he barely touched him with that pathetic excuse for a jab he was using and spent nearly the whole round holding on.
not that the other guy was anything special by the way.. he sucked aswell.. just had a bit more power than hatton.

Im sick of the hatton camp hand picking these bum's for him to fight.

I wish the winner of this 2 this summer can fight Witter later in this year.

    Witter loooked great against Corley.
I'd love to see Hatton - Witter.. but i cant see it ever happening tbh. all the hatton camp are worried about is money and impressing america.

Me neither. But I'd prefer to see Ricardo Torres vs Juan Urango myself.

Sure. Blame Hatton's mediocre performance on the opponent. Grow up man.
Urango came to fight, and hurt Hatton on a couple occasions, Hatton NEVER hurt him. Andre Eason dropped Urango. Hatton could not even budge him.
Shut up bitch. I'm not a Hatton fan. Read every post I've ever written here. I've consistently said he's the most overrated fighter in the sport. I didn't say a single thing here about Hatton's performance or try to justify it in any way. It was crap--at least from round 5 on. But Urango was still terrible. I don't know why you'd want to see him fight again. Especially against Torres, who looked almost as bad getting his gift decision against Arnoutis last time out. Seriously, what did you see in Urango that makes you want to see him again so badly? It's the biceps, right Hulk?
Watch who you callin a bitch, internet tuff guy. And why would I want to see Urango again? Because I saw his fight with Mike Arnoutis, in which he got a draw, his shootout with Andre Eason when he KO'd Eason, and his "title winning" fight with the runner Ben Rabah, which I felt he won, but it was boring. Anyway, I've seen power, and heart in Urango. He defended his title with more valor and vigor than Kostya Tzyu did, as ironic as that is. He did better against Arnoutis than Torres did. And I figure it would be a very exciting shootout between two sluggers. Guys like Arnoutis can make anyone look bad.
Hulk why is it some people on this forum want to talk tuff to somebody when there 1000 miles away, when you know half these cowards would'nt throw rice at a wedding, you feel me?
this really has nothing to do with you. feel me?
How do you know that I was referring to you? ...Oh just to let you know I SC you back. Have a good day.

That's a good point, Im surprised more people haven't brought that up... What the hell was Hatton's corner so worried about in the later rounds?? I couldn't make out most of what Billy Graham was saying but for some reason his whole corner were acting like he was about to be KTFO, why did the urge him to hold on so strongly?? Was he gassing out?? There were some bits I could hear and it definetly sounded like something was wrong... Rickys trainer was saying things like " it happens to everyone, or something like that"... Anyone know what was going on?

This fan is far from embarrassed, although I’m a little ticked off!

For me, the first 7 rounds were a real treat.
It was quite refreshing to see Ricky dart around, popping 3 punch combos from all sorts of angles while staying out of trouble.

Very Dynamic I thought to myself.. Much more like a young Roberto Duran he'd been so often likened to, now for the kill Ricky!

    Then what?

I suppose the general idea was that Ricky gassed out and chose to wrestle the much stronger man (who it must be said was bullied backwards during the clinches throughout the fight).

Sarcasm aside, I’m not sure I buy that?
I mean, I would love to argue that all the negative shite coming outta Graham’s mouth had some kinda effect of Ricky.

Don’t get me wrong, I agree with Hulk in saying that Hatton did NOT like those body shots, but then again, who does?

But to me, Hatton did NOT look like he was in any physical danger (never staggered, never buckled... Although I concede he did get his a$s kicked in the 5th). It was clear that Ricky was told to box first, but when it became apparent that his boxing was starting to loose its Golota, Graham turned into a flaming delirious fish wife, probably having premonitions of becoming a weeping widow!

Seriously, ive never heard so much negative shite come outta any1 trainer’s mouth, when it was least needed.

I mean Ricky had a badish 8th or 9th and it was like "just hang the fwock on Ricky"!

I had enough of that shat with Frank Bruno back in '95!

My opinion is that if Ricky had just stuck to planting his feet a bit more and out hustling his man, backing him up and actually believing that he was doing a good job of it, he would of won by just as wide a margin and still looked good for it.

Hatton probably WAS dog tired though, but then again, you think he wasn’t against Tszyu? What was lacking in this fight was fire and intensity. I hold Billy Graham highly responsible for that.

Ricky does need to stop with the bad lifestyle habits though. It must be raising questions in his own head by now.. Even if his eating habits are truly irrelevant to his condition.... Better safe than sorry.

    I am a Hatton fan.
Hatton was shite from round 5 onwards - Agreed
Hatton was completely shagged from round8/9 onwards - Agreed
Hatton is in a bit of a pickle - Agreed
Hatton has bad eating habits - Agreed
Hatton can PROBABLY come back with a good performance next time out - Agreed
Hatton probably doesnt give a flying f*ck what anyone on this forum has to say about what he should do next - Agreed Because although he has performed below par in his last couple of fights and needs to do something about it, he is a 2 weight professional boxing World Champion. If he was to go in the ring with anyone on this forum, he'd obliterate them, maybe even kill them. So does all this arguing really matter? Not really

Maybe they can bill it as hug your hero, where fans get to pay to go a round with Ricky. All in one night like a carnaval attraction. It would only be dangerous for the first few guys but after that its all hugs.

ok ok, jokes were funny but even if hatton can only fight for 8 rounds these days he'd still trash anyone here. (apart from jbirdy, he battered chuck norris)

LOL....Of course it matters. He was badly exposed both times he appeared on HBO for everyone to see. BTW, I'm glad you brought up the fact that he can beat or even kill anyone on this forum cause they're searching the forums looking for his next opponent. They wanna try to make him look good next time out. Any volunteers? The fact is that it has become more and more apparent that it was an over the hill Tzyu he fought that night and that is all.
