It may be quite possible that Vitali suffers from some obsessive mental disorder. I wonder if he has posters of Lennox Lewis in his
room and watches the tape of the fight every night. What gives with this character? Lewis has been out of the sport for years and I don't think
that he's coming back.

Because people think Lewis was better and won the fight....and people won't shut up about that fight...it is always within earshot of Vitali so why wouldn't he still address what we are still talking about....

.....it's hard to "just get over" a fight that was ripped out of his hands by the cut and then the promised rematch that never happened....he has that driving him and I feel bad for whoever gets in his way.

Fighters have memories like elephants.....they remember the littlest slights and the most insignificant events if they perceived any kind of disrespect.

All I can say is get off Vitali's a**....so he wants a rematch with Lewis so F****** what he's entitled to say what he wants. Vitali lost the fight but he feels like it was like Ali-Quarry I where he had a chance to win if it weren't for the cut and honestly A LOT of people agree with him.

And Landmine yeah Vitali was bloody but what does it say about a guy who took that damage and never quit vs a great champion like Lennox Lewis?


Show some respect when you talk about one of the best heavyweight fights of the last decade! Both those guys put their hearts out there and showed people what heavyweight boxing was all about and a freak accident caused the stop of the fight.

And when I say "the cut" I'm talking about the one on his eyelid and not the one on his cheek....that was all Lennox right there.

Looking at the video clip it seems to me its quite a surprise that the fight was stopped. Listening to the commentary of the previous round it was all about Vitali is on top, Lewis is shot and cant hardly stand, and Vitalis just got to keep going and he will win.

So why at that point was it stopped, either:

1. The cut - but Lenoox was shot by that point so it couldnt have got any worse
2. The powers that be didnt want Lennox to lose, and by that round it was looking like he would.

Theres a lot of people who think option 2, and Im one of them. It was a very fast decision straight after the bell - they didnt even ask the cornermen or Vitali... i think it was highly questionable

They have different commentary crews for different networks. I got Bob Sheridan and in the sixth round he was saying that Lewis was starting to beat up Klitschko (which he was). I had the bout 57-57, the first two rounds and the fourth round going to Klitschko, the third, fifth and sixth going to Lewis. I don't care what the judges said, a lot of people had the fight this way.

I really can't fathom why you're saying that the stoppage was rigged. Vitali's face was one of the most badly cut up I've seen in a boxing match. You'd really have to be delusional to think that the stoppage wasn't warranted.

Agree. Vitali is a great fighter and was never going to give up, that's one of the reasons he's so good. He needed the fight to be stopped IMO. If you want to see a questionable decision see Green vs Beyer 1.

i think vitaly has a point of still addressing he should of won, it was a great fight, and keep in mind vitaly has only lost a boxing match over an injury and when he just couldn't compete much longer due to injury, and this was one of those fights he felt he could continue despite the cuts, and he knew he should of won so his still a bit bitter, shyt i would too, that was a oppertunity to take out the champ and vitaly should of, if he wasn't force to stop fighting.
