Yes but he was much bigger than Marciano in weight remember Marciano was only 180's pounds he would be a Cruiserweight by today's standards.

Despite Frazier's ring success, he wasn't a tremendous hitter, there are times where he got backed up by opponents not typically known for their power.

I think Rocky with his super cutman and trainer Charlie Goldman would be able to stop Ali or at least pull off a win before Rocky's face falls apart at the seams. Remember Ali had trouble with Frazier who through the same left hook over and over, and Chuvallo who's style and guts gave Ali trouble.

Now I gotta give Rocky credit where it's due, his head movement wasn't so exaggerated as Frazier, and his left hook wasn't as predicatable as many people might think. He wasn't an easy target, and he'd feint and set his hook up, he was able to nail skilled boxer/technicians with it.

Ali wasn't a technician, where one fighter would stay just out of his opponent's range and be in a position to counter, Ali would be on the other side of the ring. I can't see Ali setting Rocky up like Moore, or Walcott, and I don't think that Dundee would be able to make a difference. Charlie Goldman did a lot for Rocky's big leap into professional ranks, and I don't see how he wouldn't be able to do as much against the likes of Ali.

That's your opinion. Don't forget that a gutsy little Henry Cooper was enough to stop Ali. If it wasn't for divine intervention...

Besides, Ali wasn't a technical fighter as he mostly got by on his quickness, timing and judge of distance. He had difficulty with a Norton who was able to confuse the hell out of Ali with a few simple techniques that Ali couldn't figure out. At times especially with guys with a left hook Ali didn't have any other answers besides staying away, and this is agaist guys with easy to see coming hooks (With the exception of Bob Foster, but that's irrelevant). Keeping out of distance of the hook and shelling up isn't always the answer. Remember what Joe Louis once said, "They can run but they can't hide."

Did you watch Ali v Foreman?

Did you see the Ali v Frazier fights, especially the 3rd?

Ali had a tremendous ability to absorb bodyshots & that was an ageing fighter with no legs & diminished speed.

I assume that you are talking about the 1960's Ali & in that case, Rocky may not have landed a single meaningful blow, but even if he had managed to trap Ali on the ropes (something I sincerely doubt), ali's performances in the 1970's were conclusive proof that he could take a shellacking to head & body.

Ali would win this one he may get dropped because i think that the 60's version could not take the punch as well as the 70's version because he was still growing into his body. That being said Ali hands down he would bust rocky face off and he might even get a tko on the rock.
