That is,P4P,one of the most ludicrous statements I've ever read in my time here.147 is probably the deepest division, talent wise.
Floyd is all talk. He talks a lot. He said a lot about Gatti, then said that it was all just talk and he respects him greatly. I wouldn't be surprised to see Mayweather get a stake in Golden Boy after this. He's a talker. He already called out Mosley at the press conference.Originally Posted by Olympian904
And to say cleaning up means nothing, sorry man I've been with you most of this thread but 147 is far from unimpressive. It's in as good of shape as it has been in a long time. Very deep.

Who is in the WW divisionOriginally Posted by amat
Mosley is on the decline...he had one good fight back.
Cotto-Hasnt been impressive against Malignaggi and Urkal. He swings wide and takes a lot of head shots...the guy was on the verge of getting KO'd twice.
Hatton-Has looked terrible in his last few fights...he gased against collazo. His style wont get him far with people who can actually box.He also has a resume full of nobodies.
Williams-He hasnt beat anyone. He is another boxer who tries to keep pressure on his opponents and throw a ton of wide looping shots.
Margo-He has maybe 2 names on his resume
I stated FACTS....This is the division that is soo glamorous!??
Maybe not the deepest yet, but definately will be within the next 5 years. It actually has many exciting up and comers making noise. They have no name recognition yet so they will have to fight each other to reach the stage that allows them to fight the "names." Definately one of the divisions that keeps fans excited about the near future of boxing.Originally Posted by El Gamo
Mosley would be the first guy ever in the ring with Floyd that could possibly be just as fast and have much more power then Mayweather while still being a smart fighter.Originally Posted by Olympian904
Hatton is the Ring Magazine number 10 P4P fighter, something Floyd hasn't faced in a long while.
Cotto is going in against Judah. If he does a number on Judah, someone you yourself thinks will beat Cotto, and someone who was Floyd's biggest fight past 135 aside from DLH. Not to mention he has one of the fastest growing fanbases in all of boxing.
Margarito and Williams are two guys who would have had to gone through each other by the time the face Floyd, and would have beat Cotto or Judah. Both are very big, possess high workrates and both can crack.
Mayweather, Cotto, Hatton and Mosley are all probably top 10 in terms of boxing's most recognizable stars. All the networks compete to get these guys, whether it be to fight or just in studio for an interview ect. Yet there is no glamour in that division?
147LB division is not impressive eh? I notice that Cotto, Margo, Williams, Mosley and Hatton don't seem to lose to much!!! Of course Floyd has to clean house at 147, if he loses to DLH and I think he will, his legacy in the sport demands he does. It is a strong division and the most interesting, proven by the fact that we all talk about it so much ourselves!
I don't think they would beat Floyd either, I just want to see him prove himself against the best out there. These guys don't seem to lose very often now do they? Out of shape or nearly knocked out they still manage to win, that means they deserve a shot. Surely you can't deny Mosley a chance with his record over the last ten years? How does Judah get a chance again? Floyd will know all about the big time come May5th and he might not look so pretty after it's finished.Originally Posted by Olympian904

The fact that you just mentioned four very recognizable names (I'm not counting Hatton because IMO he is not a WW yet) is enough for you to see that the division is deep. And you also forgot another current champ in Kermit Cintron. Please, what other wheit class could you actually mention more than three or four names that actually mattered??Originally Posted by Olympian904
And there are other names, maybe not so impressive, but good names still. Clotey gave Margo all that he could handle and is an exciting fighter. And another up and coming prospect in Andre Berto. I can't wait to see what this kidd can do in 1 or 2 years. This division is not only hot, it is getting hotter.
Whenever someone states that 147 isn't a deep division, the question I always ask is "If 147 isn't deep, then which division is deeper?"
The only division that is possibly deeper is 130, and even that may be short-lived, since both Morales and Barrera are near the end of the line (and if Morales comes back, it will be at 135.)
People can argue all day that 147 isn't deep, but unless they can prove to me that there are better divisions out there, I don't put too much stock in their claims.
Since when does a fighters fan base define if he is good or not?
I think that the middleweight division is the deepest...just look at it.
You cant compare Williams,Cotto,Margo to guys like Taylor,Abraham,Ouma,Wright.Someone said that the networks compete for Hatton,Cotto,Mosley...lol..What networks are these??Hatton still isnt a big draw over here...and Mosley never got a new contract with HBO.
Someone mentioned that Hatton,Cotto,,Margo, and Williams dont seem to lose much...Who have they fought that was impressive??
