Are you asking me if I had to show him my glutes? Frankly I don't swing that way. I guess what it came down to was good timing, and that he was so excited about the idea, and at first I wasn't buying it. Or maybe I did show him something-- something so awesome that I wouldn't trade for all the you-showing-me-something's in the world. You decide.
Anyways, I'm not going to tell you. It's Von's baby so I'll leave it up to him. But I will tell you that it's awesomeness is in the fact that it's so simple.![]()
Right Von?![]()

That's absolutely right Chris.
Before I thought if this contraption, my jab had an impact force of a mere 129psi. Now, not even a week later, it measured in at 1768psi...enough to crush a man's skull (IF his head were prevented from moving backwards)
1768 psi in a weekCmon' the anticipation is killin me here Von Drago.
dude stop shitting us! I would become your apprentice, if you taught me to smash ones skull like a melon with just my jab.
Hahaha ok..., you could be the next biggest puncher since tyson, see you on HBO.
I'll post pics today. scouts on her.
I shouldn't even bother with you guys. Nobody but Chris seems to be appreciative around here.
WTF have YOU guys done for ME?
the one that goes around your bicep attaches behind you and as low as possible. This prevents the forwards and upwards motion of the elbow, thereby working the SHOULDER.
The one on the wrist attaches behind you and slightly downward. This prevents the upwards motion of the hand without encumbering the true jab mechanics, thereby working the tris and the shoulder. Alternatively, you can attach the wrist one to your back ankle and the elbow one to your elbow, connect them by a piece of byngee and this works well too, IF you don't have any other anchoring options.
You can do one at a time, or both, as I've shown in the last pic. This is the ultimate jab plyo. I'm contacting Grant Boxing tomorrow to propose a meeting of this little gem.
fair play von cc![]()
thanks bro. cc back.
try this. it's simple as hell, but you'll see... it's KILLER.
I'll defintetely give this a go. Thanks von
btw when you use it do you jab at full speed?
Well done Von, but its 30 years to late. cc

There's no reason why you shouldn't. This isn't an extra weight in your hand, therefore you don't run the risk of hyperextending your elbow and ruining your shoulder. If you want more of a challenge you can use thicker bungee cords, or add an additional bungee. Obviously if you want to make it easier on yourself you can use a thinner bungee cord, and alternate with and without the cord. Of course this could be used any elastic band, but it's more convenient with bungee cords, as it's already has a hook attached.Originally Posted by voodoo_dude
As I was telling Von in the PM is that because of the downward pull it doesn't assist the movement that brings your hand back to the on guard position that you see with holding the cord in your hand. On the flipside it does the opposite, you're working against it as you punch and while you're trying to keep your hands up.
I've found when messing with it that there's a lot of useful set-ups. You can change the angle from where it's pulling from, and you can put the strap around different parts of your arm as the pictures were showing.
This is good for building up your shoulder strength/endurance, IMO better than dumbells, or at least a good supplement.
This can help make a better jab. You can do this along with other exercises such as plyometrics and regular calisthenics to work on strength and explosiveness in your arm. Plyometric-pushups will help work on the muscles that propell the arm, and exercises with medicine-ball would do the same.
This isn't to say that shoulder is the biggest factor in a jab, but it is a big part of it. The biggest thing is getting the whole body involved in it, stepping into it, shifting the weight and pivoting. Another point is that you don't always want to commit to your jab, because that will make you more susceptible to counters.
It's a good idea, but it only works if you use it, just like the jab it helps.

show me the one on the market and then I'll beleive you.Everythnig is shit with them plastic handles that you hold in your hands.... nothing on the wrist and nothing on the elbow exists as far as I can tell. The ones that are out are utterly USELESS and don't work the proper muscles or mechanics, nor do they offer enough resistance to make an impact.
or are you talking about the one YOU invented? lol.
you know, we could have that made inChina... together.![]()
I have one of those elastic cords with the handles, it's in a box somewhere that I could less. I think the best I got out of it was stretching, but I can do the same thing with my jumprope so I could pretty much bury it.
