Something does need to be done about the health insurance issue it needs to be corrected but the quality of treatment we have in America is pretty fucking good....it's just expensive. Look at successful treatment rates for cancer, any kind of cancer between the US and any other country....we usually come out on top. Now all we have to do is make this kind of care affordable to the masses and it needs to have reasonable policies in regards to how policies are handled, that's the big issue. Right now people get sick and the insurance companies or health groups can say "See ya later chump" and they are stuck without insurance OR the person can just get fired and that ends their health benefits OR they die and their family is left shit out of luck unless one of them has health insurance coverage from somewhere else.
Ummm Lyle that because 4.7 million cancer deaths in 07 happened in developing nations, compaired to 2.9 in the industrialised world.
It would be almost impossable for us not to be in the top 20

....well compare us to England if you want to, our successful treatments for certain types of cancer are better.

Or better yet compare us to the lovely magical land of Cuba.

Quality of life, treatments, preventative measures, and success rates in America are hard for any country to compete with. All that needs to change is the health insurance part of the problem

Interestingly, especially for a tobacco producer,Cuba has the lowest Lung Cancer rate
Before I responded I went to the PDF file on it

It gets violently infected to the point,I wake up at 5AM,and drive myself to the emergency room in tears,Im literally crying the whole way
    Now this is with insurance
Im just sitting there in the waiting room for over an hour holding my finger and leaking from the eyes
And it still cost a grand for this wonderful American style treatment, and thats IF you have insurance,I got looked at by the Doctors for a whopping 10 minutes tops
You want that in Canada, watch your ass, because if it gets sick, your in deep s
Trainer Monkey.. your CO PAY cost $1000?

    That is unheard of..

My ER co-pay is $100 and that is the highest it has ever been.. If that is your co-pay then i suggest you get a new plan or something.. Luckily I am still under my parents plan because i'm under 25, and still a student, but if i got health insurance at my job the ER co-pay would be the same.. But the others would be more expensive, hence staying with my parents plan.. But, the point is if you got a minimum wage part time job that offered part-time benefits for employees, you'd do EXTREMELY better than $1000 for an ER visit..

Also, not taking a shot at you or anything, but.. it's not the ER's fault that the doctor(s) have other patients to see.. you were the one who waited so long to get it checked out, so you can't really factor that into the argument of dissing healthcare..

I was having an anxiety issue and was having problems breathing, and i told them that when i signed in at the ER, and they took me right away due to priority.... I probably went ahead of 5-6 people in the waiting room her were probably there because they didn't feel well or something to that extent that was not as serious..

There is this thing that is getting more and prevelant called "consumer driven health care"(a more Orwellian bit of doublespeak would be hard to imagine)
It more or less translates to this,if your going to get sick,be real sick, cause they aint covering butkiss under 2500

Yes, and once it does you'll have a healthcare system similar to France.

Little piddly Cuba, sitting next to the most powerful and aggressive country on earth..... and spending decades just sticking two fingers up at them, winding them up at every opportunity

    Gotta admire that a bit.

Castro still wins for greatest political prank of all time.
Reagan kept yammering on about Political Prisoners in Cuba
So he just emptied his prisons, gave them boats and sent them here.
Miami's crime rate has never been the same
