You can almost 100% rule that one out, low reward high risk fight, not likely at this point. Oscar will fight some huge name that will bring in the $$$ Verno Phillips is probably at the bottom of his list. I like Verno though if anyone deserves it, he does.

I have to agree with both Verno Phillips deserves a big payday more then any of them.

He has always been a true warrior of the sport who comes in does his job and goes home. Win or lose he never makes excuses and I have never seen him give anything but his best in a fight. Like No Contest said though Verno is probably at the bottom of the list. Mainly because he is really known only through out the boxing community.

I would surely root for Phillips if he got the chance though.

Of course for me its the miguel cotto fight.. and i really hope he takes two fights..

Cos having been reminded of the winky wright fight the concept interests me and i know winky likes to eat but if he got down to 154 that'd be a superfight in my opinion.

and thats the two sort of fights to cement a legacy!

I still think Mora is the best fight right now for Oscar. I here people say high risk no reward well if Oscar beats him he gets the WBC strap which is a big reward in the organization's eyes. It would be huge in CA for Oscar he wouldn't even get hurt against Mora seeing as the man doesn't posess any power. Then whatever Oscar says to fight again in December with the winner of Margarito Cotto fight. In both of those fight's Oscar will easily make more money than one fight with Mayweather and make the last exit.
Sounds sweet doesn't it I should be promoter.

Mora imo is only a good fight if it goes down like you describe bro..

He must then fight twice this year and perhaps we may even get the chance of seeing a cotto or margarito fight oscar for a strap at 154...

that interests me alot.. Because i like the idea of cotto becoming three wieght world champ..

Oscar doesn't want any part of Winky's defense. The only person I've really seen get through it was Bernard and that was because he rough housed him. That's how you beat Wright and De La Hoya does not have that in his arsenal.

I picked Paul Williams because it would be VERY impressive for Oscar to beat Paul.

PW isn't an all around great fighter but neither is ODH at this stage....PW is big, he's long, he pours on the pressure, and he's young. PW also has good power as we saw vs Quintana.

Oscar is older, slower, might be weight drained at 147, and I seriously question his power when he couldn't put Forbes down.

I think a fight vs Zab Judah wouldn't be too bad to see or even Vernon Forrest
