Foreman fought good fighters....but then again there were good fighters to face then, the DEEPEST the division has ever been.

Holyfield...eh, I guess he did ok

    Lewis fought SOME good competition

Walcott, Charles, Moore (who may have been old but like RJJ was lightheavyweight champion at the time), Rex Layne was supposed to be the next Jack Dempsey, Roland LaStarza was a heavyweight Winky Wright.....Rocky knocked all those guys out....he didn't just beat them he knocked them out.

TEX COBB??!?!?!?! are you F****** serious?

and Samson...the more you dis Rocky the more I like him....he never lost...what do you think of that jackass?
No i wern't serious with him Lyle was just a joke

But technically didn't Rocky actually lose a pro fight im sure i see that somewhere where he changed his name or something.

    Everyone who?

I can tell from your posting that you WANT to make a good point and stick it to me and you just can't ever get it done....we talk boxing and Rocky Marciano and now we're comparing it to the NFL?

Is there nothing else for you to do in your sad little world than TRY (and fail) to make a point about Rocky Marciano not being a great boxer?

Rocky's guts needs no more explanation but I gotta say that the shots that Walcott and Moore landed were devestating, it's a feat in itself to beat the count, more so to come right back up and turn the momentum of the fight. This isn't a Rocky Balboa theme, "How hard you get hit and keep goin." This is about real focus, able to fight your fight no matter how dizzy or hurt you are. This is what a real chin is about, not how much you can take off a punch but but standing up to it and continuing to give them hell.

I think I need to say something about Joe Louis in his fight against Marciano. This wasn't the Louis that fought Ezzard Charles or Walcott, this Louis was better, his jab got some of its' old sting back, Rocky's face proved it, he was in better condition. Granted this wasn't the Joe Louis that took on Max Baer and Schmelling, but this was as good as he could get in his comeback. Rocky's pace and pressure will tire anyone out, and that wore Louis down enough that Rocky could land his patented blockbusters.

Boring, boring and boring! If, if what a waste of time. Look, this is the way it is, Rocky fought the top guys of his era, Ali fought the top guys of his era, Holmes did the same, Tyson did the same, Lewis did the same thing. As the years rolled by the fighters grew larger just like they have in all pro sports. Could all the modern HW Champs beat Rocky, of course they could, but it's a waste of time to talk about it because everyone has already figured it out.
If you still don't think you're wasting your time think about this; modern fighters have better camps, eat better, have fewer fights; and, generally, have better trainers. I think they are all a hell of a lot smarter, also.

I think heavyweights are bigger but not necessarily smarter. Look at Seth Mitchell, although very early on his career, he is limted.

Yeah he was just REALLY lucky.....you're an idiot.

Marciano had skills, I mean if he didn't have any skills at all wouldn't he suffer the same fate of Primo Carnera? anytime Primo fought someone halfway decent he got his big a** whupped!

I mean Primo had power but he had no skill at all and no coordination either.....makes it hard to land A punch much less a KO punch and Rocky KO'd a number of very good fighters.

And what's with everyone saying Joe Louis was small He was bigger than Mike Tyson!

    Jack Dempsey had skill too
lmao at this guy getting mad that his bum hero has been totally exposed as a fraud

Rocky has never been exposed even though he was the smaller man in the bigger mans world.

Look how many smaller guys made a go in the division.

Dempsey, Tunney, Loughran, Moore, Tyson there are others all greats in their own right.

comparing football records to boxing records is just retarded. SRR record was 140-1 at one time--your right records dont say anything

In the heavyweight there's only Marciano. In the lower weights you have guys like Joe Gans, Ray Robinson, and Julio Cesar Chavez. There are other men with outstanding records as well.
