Lift weights, drink protien shakes.
at 120lbs your not going to gain any real size.... muscle weighs more than fat so if you want to have the muscle, your going to have to weigh more = in boxing terms, is that what you want?
2.5g carbs per lb bodyweight = 300g a day
1.5g protein per lb of bodyweight = 180g a day
just work out, THEN eat. not the other way around.(beef pork) then you'll realize your hungry again after you work out. simply just eat again and continue the cycle. i was weighing in at 120 also. now i weigh 126. so it works.
what weight do you want to be? You want your muscle to be functional if you're fighting and not the pretty boy beach muscles.Originally Posted by knock out king

Listen to Missy, you only want to gain functional muscle, if at all. If you just body build you will end up fighting guys who are naturally bigger than you which isn't a good thing, as Ricky Hatton found out recently.
I would recommend a high protein diet though, cause if you're training a lot you cause some damage to your muscles (even from running and punching a bag) which needs to be repaired. By doing a lot of boxing training such as shadowboxing skipping and bagwork etc., you are working the muscles which are relevant to a boxer which is the most important thing.
Doing some weight training may also be beneficial as being physically strong can also be advantageous in the ring, however out and out body building will give you dormant stiff muscles that constrict your movement, and make your muscles prone to tears.
if your wanting muscles so that u hit harder...hitting the bag at a proper distance strengthens your punching power ..boxers to maintain there weight and speed try not to bulk up and "strength train" instead of try to thicken up w/ muscles
anyway its mainly doing lots of medium-light weight reps and u GRADUALLY through time can add more on your rips ...but you MAx out almost every other time u lift ....
this is opposed to pumping the heavy iron less reps
the 1st way i said helps keep your arm endurance along w/ speed and weight '
but if u wanna just get bigger and not just stronger then eat Large amounts of protein and keep doing the heavy lifting as heavy as u can get w/ most reps as u can get in your pyramid
