Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Brock vs Ibragimov
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ha...thought ole' Wacko forgot ya's didn'tcha?!?!
Hell nah! Boom!!! We up in this bitch like uh muh!!!
Not sure about what's going on world wide...but in Wackoland...it's been storming like hell all over the South of the good ole' US of A.
Thought for a bit that the DRBR wasn't going to happen. Major power outtages & the work compu got struck by lightening...the home P.C. seems to be all right & as long as the cable connection stays up to speed...we still in biz.
Got the lap top with wireless hookup hipside just incase...all that mess being said...it's soon to be show time!!!
This weekend courtesy of HBO we got a heavyweight match up on the tube via HBO's “Boxing After Dark”! The card is a great all arounder of undefeateds with the main event being Calvin "the Banker" Brock (28 wins with 22 ko's) as he bats off against vaguely known Timor Ibragimov (21 wins with 13 ko's & 1 draw) for the IBA Continental Heavyweight Title.
Now I know many of you don't get all googlee wooglee over the heavies...but I happen to like Brock...he's fun to watch & you never know whether or not he's gonna pull a rabbit out the ole hat or park a turd in the toilet when he matches power to power.
He's lately been quoted by most of the media as saying that he is the best heavyweight in the world...that he's the best kept secret at 175lbs & he's ready to show the rest of the world & the champions that he's the man to beat.
Truthfully...I'm not well versed on all matters Timor Ibragimov...but I have heard that he's a tuff customer & his record aint that bad. Neither he nor Brock have fought any world beaters yet...nor have they proven that they are the latter...so again...as always...we shall see.
Also on the card are two other unbeaten fighters. We drop down to the welterweights level as mucho promising Joel Julio (27 wins with 24 ko's) goes head to head with equally hard hitting Carlos Quintana (22 wins 18 ko's) for the WBA Welterweight Title Eliminator spot.
You know that both these fights are gonna smoke & that all four of these undefeated fighters are gonna give it all theyv'e got!
I'll be covering both fights...but the Brock fight is what I'm eager for. Just to see if Brock can prove that he's everything that he thinks he is. There are a lot of factors at play for Brock...but they are a bit wishy washy...it's almost as if Brock's negatives are his pluses & his pluses are his negatives.
Tuff call...but here's how I see it...the thing is...like Brock or not...he's got too many faults in his game & if Ibragimov is what he's being talked up to be...Brock could have a ruff night...possibley getting knocked out himself.
Anywho...here's what I see possibley factoring into this fight...
Factor 1: Calvin Brock can punch...but quite often...he has trouble getting in line to land that one big punch and there lies the problem...he searches & struggles to land the killing blow & he often has to take a punch or twenty to get in his one goody...but when it get's in...it get's in! Still...the man get's hit...which leads me to this...
Factor 2: As good as I think that Brock is...he's got a leaky defense. He can be hit & hit hard but he seems to be able to take what he's given. That being said though...a crafts at 200+ pounds such as Wladimir Klitschko would tear him apart.
Factor 3: Speaking from personal experience with Brock...I was there ringside when he went the full 12 rounds against Previously World Touted fighter David Bostice & Brock gave as good as he took. Several times I thought that Bostice was going to tear Brock's head off...but just at the last moment Brock would gut it out & hammer Bostice like a fwockin nail! Hence the fact that Brock may have the goods to become a reliable force in the division...either way...he's a good guy & good for the sport.
Factor 4: Even coming through some impressive win over some decent names, even getting to show his stuff on ESPN, even punching from corner to post...he still seems a bit unsure of himself at this level. I often wonder where his head is & whether or not it stays where it is firmly planted.
Factor 5: Undefeated. To me this equates to nerves & nerves may equate to mistakes. Imbragimov boxed as a light-heavy in the 1996 Olympics
Factor 6: The unknown. I know very little about Brock's opponent Ibragimov...& to my knowledge...the same goes from Brock's camps knowledge. Passing off the statement of "I'm gonna do what I do best & win at all costs" is a bit...wacko...IWO. Know your opponent.
You can damned well bet that Ibrag knows Brock.
All I know is this : Ibragimov boxed as a light-heavy in the Olympics (he lost to Stipe Drews in his second bout) and turned professional in Russia four years later before moving to the U.S. He has been the 12-round distance once before, outpointing Billy Douglas — son of ex-champ Buster — and in his last bout he stopped the frequently beaten Kenny Craven in two rounds when his opponent retired on his stool (Brock had been taken into the fourth round by Craven nine months earlier).
**That's my limited knowledge & that came from me reading it from some other site & passing it on to you my fellow gents.
Ya'll know I hate to make a pick with limited knowledge about the opposing fighter...but I gotta do it:
Either way...I'm predicting a hard fight for Brock that ends in a decision.
Well fellers & fellerettes...as always...it's on & Wacko is here for ya.
The weekend is in full effect & I have already got the elixir of life flowing.
Pop the corks, crack a cap, & pound back that last shout...it's fight night!!! Be a gentleman & share that remote...Saturday is only a handful of hours away.
Cheers & koneecheewah bitches.
Predictions:
Brock by SD.
Julio by 8th round TKO.
Never beg a 40 dollar hooker...specially after she's just turned down your mom's credit card!!
