I'm not too sure... sounds like words have been twisted and put in his mouth or simply misinterpreted...
According to forums... we need a video of the conference really...

Yes because as cocky as he has come off in the past........I really don't believe that he would say something that outrageous.........unless of course he was just doing it to aggrevate Tarver.
Then it would be funny.![]()
I kind of think the same thing. Jones should know that a comment like that hurts his career more than his losses.Originally Posted by AdamGB

Excuse me for being late of slow or whatever you want to call it, but what did Roy say I really don't think it can't be as bad as his losses. I am very open minded so I could be wrong![]()
Dang! Nevermind I found out what he said and I think someone is putting words in his mouth.
WTF did he say?!Originally Posted by Vessel

The lost on purpose thing? Oh yeah I was fairly apalled by that and I really would put that past RJJ.
He claims to have thrown the third Tarver fight? huh? I don't think he would ever say that.Originally Posted by SecondRoundKO

Yeah he said he lost on purpose so his dad wouldn't get the credit. In the "interview" he went prety deep into it. I REALLY doubt it, otherwise it a bunch of people deserve $50 back.Originally Posted by Hulk
IT seemed to me that he lost on purpose. Rounds 4 and 5 of that fight he was tagging tarver then he just stopped punching. I have heard he trew the fight cause of his father and i heard it had something to do with the mafia. WHo knows but i do know that he could and should have ko'ed tarver in that fight.
I don't know... you reckon he would have wanted to get at his dad more than get back at Tarver?
Untill I see footage of Roy Jones actually saying this or hear it from a credible source like ESPN or HBO, I ain't believing it. It's true he could have beaten Tarver that night, but he was gun shy and just didn't want to take the chance of being countered and KO'd.

I guess Meldrick Taylor meant to have the biggest upset and loss in the history of boxing so he will always be remembered.
