Default BOXING HEAVYWEIGHTS = FAT AND SLUGGISH (MOST)!

how come there are too many out of shape heavyweights.

look at calvin brock, the guys over 6 feet tall and isnt cut out.
look at tyson back in his heydays, 5'11" and cut out like anything, had a 6 pack etc.

i was watching friday fight night a few months back. and they started going on about some heavyweight prospect, and to stay tuned in.
it turned out to be some heavyweight about 6'3. he had so much fat around his belly, and the guy was well sluggish. i know the heavyweight division is a mess but how come it seems to be the heavyweights in boxing that are so out of shape, sluggish etc.

Now look at some heavy weights in the ufc. most are well built and fast etc, like arlovski, brendon vera . they not sluggish or nothing.
the heavyweights in pride, crocop, nog, wanderlei silva etc.
look at the heavyweights in k-1., hoost, lebanner, filho....etc

MY POINT IS how come the heavyweights in BOXING are so out of shape physically and sluggish. the heavyweights in othr COMBAT organisations seem to be well built, and fast etc.

you lot might get offended by this post but what i said is true. I have never seen calvin brock fight before and i thought he may be fast (hand n foot speed) and fun to watch but after his last fight i was flabbergasted!

Wlad and a few other guys are not out of shape

James Toney, Kirk Johnson, and Butterbean don't help out the stereotype though

wlad used to be a kickboxer

no seriously, jus look at the up-coming HW's in boxing! they fat, ugly and sluggish! when i look at how the heavyweight division is, i then realise jus how great the past fighters like joe louis, ali and tyson were etc

...VITALI was the kickboxer, you can tell from his stance, Wlad was just a boxer

Chaz Witherspoon, Eddie Chambers, Malik Scott, are not fat!

Yeah the workrate for heavyweights isn't the best for the most part but the KO's they do are the best

There are a lot of heavies that are in great shape. I still got my eye on David Rodriguez & hope that he fights a live body soon. That kid can crack!

I think Butterbean is Toney's role model.

    back at you.
    First time here...

I was going to say a lot of fighters worship at the shrine of Tony Galento or Buster Mathis but those were lardish gents who put forth an effort.

Did I just call Galento a "gent"?

It's not so much a matter of contestants being out of shape as just not working in the ring. Many "fight" as though they are entitled to win based on positive press and by their willingness to don the gloves and show up in the ring.

Many, but not all for sure. The sluggish will get (whacked) every time. :P
