    Default No abs?

Something I have noticed recently on some fights that I have watched on ESPN classic is that some of the pro boxers dont even have abs. I know their stomach is still hard from taking all of those punches but I dont have a problem keeping my abs in shape and I know I dont train nearly as much as a pro boxer. So, I was just wondering why it is that you see some pro boxers that dont even have decent abs?

    Which boxers?...

    Danny Williams? :P

I think you're confused as to what 'good abs' are... a skinny kid with no fat what so ever on his stomach has more visible abs than I do... I doubt that he can contract them hard enough to either through a punch properly or (not that you should make a habbit of it ) absorb a blow with out getting winded.

The amount of fat on top of the abs is not a measurement of how efficient they are. When you lie under a blanket in bed, no one can see your muscles... do you suddenly loose your strength?

I'll pay attention to the names next time. But I never really knew that, so your mean just because they look real hard on their stomach it doesnt really mean they got any muscle on it?

Sort of, there's muscles there... but that doesn't necessarily mean its been trained well and is made of quality, dense muscle fibre... It just means that you can see the muscle

good point, oddly enough a layer of fat can actually help you absorb body shot believe it or not ! being that you have the underlying muscle fibers ! Good post !
