Because Fernando Vargas got the NSAC to approve him using Gatorade instead of water during the fight. Shane is pissed saying that he should have been given notice so that he could have picked a drink to. Stupid shit, but it seems like Fernando never can do anything without some type of "help".

Representatives of Shane Mosley today secured a court order today to prohibit Fernando Vargas from drinking Gatorade during their fight Saturday night in Las Vegas. Fighters on the undercard will be allowed to use sports drinks approved by the Nevada Commission.

This may sound like a silly question but what difference would Fernando's drink make? Would it give him more energy or something?

Nothing really. gatorade restores elextrolytes in yourself when you drink it so it helps replenish and rehydrate you better then water.
