I think its a good idea to have a minimum amount of fights that have to be bid on each season.

Well, i thought the whole point of this was for it to be the same as betting, just without using money - so risk free, just fun...

If that is the case then i would leave it like it is - but maybe consider reducing the initial 10k to maybe something like 3k.... to easy to put 5k on a 2-1 fight and get lucky and get a good lead going.. 3k will take some good thinking, some luck to finish top.. not that me about to finish top wasn't luck either

I would reckon the best thing is to have it just as you would if it were real money. If you take big risks you can win big or lose big - If you dont bet at all you dont win nothing but you dont lose either. So I dont think a minimum is required each week to bet. I would also think this would make it tougher for you to organise trying to ensure everyone has a bet in on time. I am happy whatever is decided and enjoy a wee gamble especailly one that doesnt dent the old wallet! Looking forward to it as it will be good fun.

Arrgh, don't be listening to this fella, he's been fixin fights to make that much money I tell ya. If it wasn't for you, I'd have gone for David Haye without specifying distance, and I'd still be in the race.

Anyhoo, I like the suggestion that you do have to place a number of bets over a season, or perhaps at least one per week or summat along those lines.

What if someone ends up with only $21 left, will they not be allowed to spend that if there is a minimum bet?

I was thinking maybe a minimum of like say 8 fights for this next season, see how that goes and maybe change it from there for the season after that. I do see some issues though.

1 ) If someone bids $1 on a fight it still counts as a bid, so we'd prolly have to make a min bet as well

2 ) The points about this being like REAL gambling are valid and in real life you prolly wouldn't make
bets on fighters you know nothing about. (I could be wrong about this one)

3 ) If someone say can't log on to the website for say A WEEK, should that really be penalized? I mean
sometimes people go on vacation or have emergencies or just don't have the time to calculate their bets.

So......I don't know, what do you think about $1000 min bet on 8 fights this season, that's an average of a fight per week. And if you are under 8 at the end of the season you get penalized $1000 per fight you are under. so for example gambler X didn't bid on any fights to try and stay at 10k, he would lose 8k on the last day for not bidding. gambler Y bid on only 4 fights and decided to stop playing he would be penalized 4k at the end of the season.

What do you guys think of that?

yeah...make them bet....it will make it interesting....if someone wins big early and then decides not to bet for the rest of the session that would be boring...need to place a minimum and have bets on every fight to spicen things up.....that way no one will know who wins till the end.....(Hint: It won't be me... )
It feels good to be back home.
