Default I know this is early, but what do you think of Sharmba Mitchell v. Paul Williams

I think this will be a great fight, and a dangerous one for both guys.

Sharmba is trying to stay on track for 60 victories. People discount him as a has been, but the only ones he has lost to in the last 12 years are Kostya Tszyu (twice) and PBF.

Paul is at the crossroads of moving up from hot prospect to title contender, and although his all out punching has been effective in the past, he has yet to face a slick boxer like Sharmba.

I think this one will come down to stamina and unfortunately for Mitchell, I don't think he has enough gas left in the tank to keep up with the work rate of the young Paul Williams.

    Any thoughts?

Paul Williams. Sharmba has been shot for a long time, but maybe Sharmba will go to his body?

Sharmba could win by boxing but he's an emotional fighter who, like a Meldrick Taylor will give up boxing and go to slugging or standing in front.

He went into the Tszyu fight to knock Tszyu out and he got knocked out.

He fought Lovemore N'dou and wanted to look impressive and instead looked average.

I think if Sharmba stays on his bike,he could win comfortably, much like Quintana against Julio.

Sharmba lets his emotions run his style. You see the...Cruz fight? it was on Wednesday Night fights or Friday Night fights. Sharmba could box well, but then he got mad for whatever reason and started slugging it out with Cruz and getting sloppy. He can't do that with Williams.

Good points, for some reason,Sharmba leaves his oroginal style,I'm sure he did that against PBF too.He tried to stand and fight and dam right Elsey,if he stands up to big Williams,he'll get KTFO!!

The emotion thing is definately a valid point, however,
If he can establish himself early on his emotions may work to his advantage.

Well, it's like this. In my estimation Sharmba in his zone with his lateral movement would diffuse Williams non-stop onslaught. If he gains confidence (emotions) doing that, he should be able to pick him apart all night.
On the flip-side, as Majesty said if he gets frustrated and slugs it could be over really quick.

Maybe the opposite could happen, his emotions getting the better of him and he thinks he is winning and tries to trade or gets the better of one exchange and thinks he can stand toe to toe.

Personally I think Sharmba will get battered.....he cant stay on his toes for the full 12 like he used to. and anyways if Floyd stopped him at 147 I'd imagine when williams catches up with him hes gonna be in for some serious hiding!!!

Hes one of those fighters thats still good because of what hes been and who hes faced but cant quite cut it at real top level anymore........look at it this way if Williams' handlers thought Sharmba really had a chance of upsetting the apple cart on their way to the top they'd put their boy in with him?

No it just boils down to lets get a still good but a little faded 2 time 140lb champ on the ledger it looks good!!!!

    hey call me cynical but............
