    Default Steve Quinonez

I was looking at the records of the contender guys and noticed that a couple of the fought Quinonez. Ive followed this guy on and off and have seen him get robbed a couple of times. Hes a skilled fighter who has good fundimentals and has fought eveyone and been competetive in almost every fight. Look at his last 6 fights

4 split and a majority decision. That has to be rough on him losing that many close fights, but if he has got the decision in those fights, would he have made himself a bigger name?

He's a pretty good fighter, pretty skilled, good counterpuncher.

I always thought he was mismanaged, he's a good counterpuncher, he likes guys to come to him, and after he got on a nice little run, beat N'dou, beat Juarez who beat N'dou and knocked him down twice and almost knocked him out (I always thought it was odd that Junior Witter's people kept going on about him being the first to knock N'dou down, just cause Cotto didn't do it doesn't mean it didn't happen, Juarez had N'dou down twice and out on his feet, Juarez also had Vivian Harris almost knocked out too but Harris came back to win), but then they put him in back to back against two guys, Clark and Mora, who stayed back, moved and didn't let Quinonez counterpunch, he ended up coming forward and they decisioned him. He had some momentum but it faded pretty quickly.

Don't get me wrong he's never been a great fighter by any means but he was pretty solid.
