Anyone ever train with them? The relevance of training with them gives you indirect benefit by giving you explosive hip movement and power. They are also an extremely punishing workout.

Never used them, I did a search and found this:

Don't know if it would be benificial or not, Scrap will know...![]()
Its the kinetic swinging and snatching exercises that build the power and core strength.
I'd never heard of them either, but looking at the picture, would they not put quite a bit of strain on your back?
If God wanted us to be vegetarians, why are animals made of meat ?
a lot of guys at ross training.com talk about them and say good things. The problem I see with them is momentum. I'm also not sure you can do anything with a kettlebell that you can't do with regular old 10-20lb dumbells.
Its all to do with the grip. They are a heck of a lot harder to control. Exercising with them uses more muscles. Dumbells tend to isolate stuff.Originally Posted by Von Milash
I've been tempted but they're expensive.
Speaking of which our gym has a new toy called the grappler, essentially it's like climbing a rope but sitting, hits all the upper body. I like it![]()
The weight is further away from the handle, so like you said it's harder to control but probably better for for compound movements.Originally Posted by Munky
Granted. Kettlebells are expensive. It costs 70 quid for a 16kilo decent one...but they are worth it and last a lifetime.
Interested to hear more about that MissyOriginally Posted by Missy

And if you do get one be sure to post some feedback. I've been tempted too, but have stuck to slamming medicine balls off my gym's walls.
