Default Just watched Valero Vs Mosquera (well 50% of it)

    It's a bullshit stoppage

Valero hit's Mosquera, he takes the punch but the ref bundles in and stops it

He wasn't knocked down, didn't look hurt at all

Havn't watched the full fight yet but pretty disappointed in Valero, his knockout power wasn't in display much from what I've seen. Mosquera got caught loads of times flush but didn't seem too bothered.

Valero is overrated, he will be given a beat down if he faces the Pac man

Haha, I would watch the whole fight first. What are you playing it on? I never dl DVD files, only avis but this was the exception. But Real Player and WMP crash after a couple seconds. Do i need divx or something?

Well Valero knocked him down 3 times, knocked out his first 20 opponents and nearly knocked out highly rated youngster Urbano Antillo in SPARRING with the head gear on,so to say his power is over rated is silly.....

Man...how can you watch that? I see about 10 seconds then it skips. Annoying. I'll probably finish it later. I've been at 20 kbs most of the day. Not bad. At 60%.

    Man this wait is brutal!

I'm pretty impressed by his relentlessness. I mean he just keeps coming and coming. And his balance is better this time arround.. But why does he keep his hands at his hips when he is in close quarters? I mean, he times Mosquera very well when he comes inside but that right hand is so low on the inside, maybe it's fatigue. But his fighting while being moved back is very good. Very good timing but he is venerable to big shots. Especially when he loads up on the left hand, which is SLOW at the end. But he still works very good, most of it from that kind of "in between" range, not inside but not really outside either. One big issue for him in his previous fights is balance. But he doesn't seem to have any balance problems until he gets on the inside where his shots go wide and over top.

Have you seen the stoppage yet? Don't watch it live, go to the replay after the winner is announced you can see it better there. Mosquera didn't even look hurt to me, I'm baffled

Just finished watching the fight. I thought this was a pretty damn good fight, but to be honest it was not worth all the hype in my opinion, good determination from both fighters, This was my second time to see Velero , and I thought he was extremely hittable ,and I was not that impressed with his style in general., He is awkward more than anything. But he does keep the punches coming, I don’t know, I thought he would be more polished. Any thoughts ?

The fight was exciting but no Castillo Corrales. As for Valero,I was impressed by his relentless, his ability to last 10 rounds and his balance was much better this time around but he still looks better in sparring than in fights! He keeps his hands WAAAAY too low and sometimes chops too much with his punches but he is still young and will still get better imo. As for the stoppageBilbo, watch carefully man,Mosquera's corner was on the apron anyway and I didn't see anyone complaining! He was getting beat up on,when Valero seemingly gained a second wind and he was not fighting back!

I've been wondering about these 1st round KO's of Valero, what do you guys think? if MAB, Erik or Pac were to really go for first round KO's against all those kiddie challengers whom Valero KO'd in the first, could they have done it too, assuming that they were totally determined and used all their might, to the extent of even using up all their energy for it? I have to concede that although it might have been possible, it might have gone wrong somewhere, maybe at least once or twice - making an 18-fight 1st round KO streak is no joke.

But on the other hand, IMO the Mosquera fight did put some dent into Valero much hyped power - Mosquera lasting 10 rounds, the first real first class fighter Valero fought (but not among the best). I wonder how long Mosquera would have lasted against any of the three. I think the more good indicator of power would be how many 1-punch KO's a boxer has made. (I have seen Pac making several 1-punch KO's) It would be nice if in the official records, they also included the 1-punch KO's like: 20w-0l-0d-20KO(5) - the number in the parenthesis being the 1-punch KO's. I think that will more clearly show the power of a boxer. I must be dreaming, heh.

Anywayz, I have to agree with my friend El Gamo here that Valero is young and has a huge potential. With a good trainer and more experience, who knows, he might become an unbeatable fighting machine someday.
Once in awhile, get outside in fresh air, take a deep breath & with a deep sigh, let out all the things that's bottled up inside you & be free, & you'll get a glimpse of nirvana.
