    Baldomir's Fishy Training Habits!

    Thursday, August 31 2006

Welterweight boss catches a big one.

What do you do when you sign to fight in the biggest bout of your life, for the largest purse of your life and against the man widely regarded as the top boxer in the world? If you’re Carlos Baldomir, you go fishing with a few friends near your hometown. Baldomir, who’s promoted by Sycuan Ringside Promotions, is set to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. Nov. 4 at the Mandalay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas and live on HBO Pay-Per-View. But, before training camp began, Baldomir, an avid fisherman, visited the Parana River in Argentina, mere minutes from his home in Santa Fe. While fishing, the Argentine native reeled in the largest Bogas he has ever caught. “When I felt the hard tug on my line, I knew it was a big one,” said Baldomir. “I laughed and thought of Mayweather. I thought, ‘Just like this fish, I have Mayweather hooked. I just need to reel him in. And the Bogas I caught that day was one of the sweetest fish I’ve ever eaten, just as Mayweather will be the finest victory for me. It was a very good omen.”

    Hillarious.
Never beg a 40 dollar hooker...specially after she's just turned down your mom's credit card!!

wow....If only those omens were anything more than that.....unfortunately I think PBF is going to counter that omen with "Reality"......I wish Baldomir well....
It feels good to be back home.

this fight will show what kind of heart floyd has. fucking arsehole. he thinks he's the best and hasnt fought anyone of late. I wish baldomir kicks his ass so bad, that floyd never fights again. boxing dont need bums like him, i know he is good but whats the point in being good when your not gonna fight the best. He thinks he is taking an easy fight right? well he will be in for a rude awakening. i want baldo to mess mayweathers face up real bad!

carlos may lose the first few rounds but then watch!!! it will get interesting in the second half tho!

This article just made me plain laugh.

I'm glad Baldo is calm. He was calm before Judah (he had a pre-victory party), Gatti (all smiles), and now Mayweather (gone fishin').

Dude, if Baldo wins, he's the greatest Cinderella Man ........EVER !

More than Buster Douglas, more than Vince Papale from Invincible!!

I mean, to go from nine losses then to eating Judah, Gatti, then Mayweather. hahaha,
    now that is hilarioius!

If this guy pulls it off, he's the biggest rags to riches story in SPORTS HISTORY !

...... seriously, if you think about it.

What are you going to do if

    a) Maywether blasts Baldomir out

    or

    b) Floyd is in a tough fight and shows a lot of heart winning convincingly?

Normally I don't mind people getting their picks wrong... what I can't stand is haters wishing harm on another man for being at the top of his game.

I hope you box... because that would qualify you about 5% to talk that shite... rather than the 0% if you don't... I really hoped you yourself have stepped through the ropes to compete.

Also who is better at Welterweight than Baldomir? the only other fight he considered was Spinks in yet another weight class for yet another belt... he started off at 130 pounds for god's sake... and despite that I think Baldomir is a tougher fight than Spinks ever will be.

Agreed. I guess since he got his answer about Lacy's heart...he's gonna start ripping into Floyd & questioning his heart.

    Hillarious.
I believe this story as much as I believe the Paul Williams sparring stories.

This is nothing but mind games now between PBF & Baldomir...

I like Baldo and and I also believe that if he loses this fght,he will retire. Whatever happens,I hope he does not get beaten too badly.I hope he puts up a great great fight,he is good for boxing and after having read his story and more about him,I take back any criticism I had of him.
