Cameroonian super-middleweight Sakio Bika says he is not scared of facing double world champion Joe Calzaghe at Manchester's MEN Arena on 14 October.
Bika, who impressed recently against WBC Champion Markus Beyer in Germany, survived a scorpion bite as a child and says after that, nothing scares him.
"Calzaghe's a great fighter but one scorpion bite is more painful than a billion punches from him," he said.
"You can't get closer to death than I did so why should I worry about him?"
Bika, 27, is now based in Australia and has only lost once in 23 professional bouts.
His bout against Beyer in May was stopped when the German sustained a cut under his eye caused by an accidental clash of heads.
And Bika said that having come so close in his first world title bout, he would not fall short this time.
"I'm not scared to travel and fight an opponent in there own backyard to achieve my dream of becoming world champion," he said.
