Surprised that Shaw would send Dawson to Germany this early in his career.

Drews is a 6'5 Light Heavy Then again Dawson's pretty big too, about 6'3.

Drews' only loss is on points to Paul Briggs.

The eliminator is to apparently get a shot at Tomasz Adamek.

Universum outbids Shaw!
The WBC has conducted a purse offer for the final elimination bout in the light heavyweight division between Stipe Drews (Croatia) and Chad Dawson (USA). The winning bid was from Universum Box-Promotion with an offer of $428,504 over Gary Shaw Productions, which bid $425,000. The scant $3,504 difference made this one of the closest purse offers in WBC history.


Shaw really did not come through for his fighter here, $4,000 more and his fighter is staying home as opposed to going to Germany. Never seen Stipe Drews though, so no idea how this one turns out. I do beleive Dawson is the real deal though and I do beleive he'll come out of this mess that Hopkins made by beating Tarver as the real LHW champ. But 6'5, seems like a rather daunting task.

Haven't seen Chad Dawson,but seems that he got a solid record...
Have seen Drews a few time...,no big puncher and not very entertaining to watch.
His nickname is Spiderman,cause he ties his opponents up with his long arms...

bad chad dawson is a great fighter, needs alittle tweakin, but i expect great things from this kid!
