Default Just a little indecisive: Now Freitas is coming back and wants Casamayor

Is this the shortest retirement of all time?

I mean it wasn't even a rumor, he announced his retirement in public and now yesterday he announces at a WBO convention that he's back and wants a unification bout with Casa. If I'm Julio Diaz I would be more than a little annoyed but guess that's how it goes.

Either way, the fight might as well happen, with the state of things at 135 now its the biggest fight Casa can make unless somebody moves up from 130.

CC for the news, but surely this is some sort of joke? And if I was Diaz,I would be irate at this state of affairs!! However, for us boxing fans,it's a good thing,Popo is exciting and I think he and Cas had a decent fight although Cas gave away far too many of the early rounds. It's definitely a fight I'd like to see again.

I don't know, he must have said it unless boxingtalk just totally didn't check out the credibility of the story.

From how it sounds it seems he might only come back if the Casa fight is made .

But I wouldn't be surprised if it happens. Casamayor says he wants big fights, who's he gonna fight? Unless Barrera moves up from 130, who is there that qualifies as a big fight? Not Julio Diaz or Jesus Chavez or anybody like that. He'd have to move up to 140 or hope somebody moves up from 130, the Freitas fight is probably the most likely option right now if Freitas is serious.

Upon hearing that the supposedly retired Acelino Freitas has called out the new WBC lightweight champ Joel Casamayor, he told BoxingTalk, "Didn't he retire? I told him to stay retired and now that chicken wants to come out and talk garbage." Casamayor goes on to give Freitas a personal message saying, "Stop talking at the WBO convention. I have the WBC and the Ring belts, but let's make this fight happen. I'll fight you anytime, anywhere, PERIOD!!!"

    I'll take Casa by UD

I don't think he had much interest in fighting Chico again, I doubt he would have called out Chico if he had beaten Casa in the third fight.

Why would Frietas want to fight the guy that beat the shat out of him? I don't see what he could do differently against Corrales,he would get KTFO again. As for Cas/Freitas,I fancy Freitas,I don't know why,it would be close but something just makes me say Freitas. I'd like to see it again though.
