the Jesus Chavez fight. I just watched this fight and I think this is the only way anyone will ever beat Floyd. Someone is gonna have to heavily outwork Floyd to offset his accuracy, bully him, and show sheer determination. The only problem was that Chavez just couldn't take the punishment he was receiving. Anybody else remember this fight?

I remember Floyd allowing Chavez to punch himself out and wearing him down over the course of the contest. And I don't think Baldomir is that fast to do close to what Chavez did.

And Chavez' agression wasnt smart. He was wide open all night, he just took it for as long as he could

Castillo outworked him (I had it a draw) but in a smarter way, with better technique and didn't just leave himself wide open like Jesus did.

Chavez fought very hard but the blueprint is more Castillo than Chavez because Castillo put on smart pressure and didn't just wear himself out missing over and over again.

The thing is no one is ever able to catch Floyd flush....I don't think his chin is THAT good, it's decent but his defense is so good he doesn't get hit.

Someone is going to have to bully Floyd, Hatton, Cotto, Baldomir, they all have the correct styles to push Floyd but Ricky gets hit too much, Cotto forgets when to box, and Baldomir is a little slow.

Anyone who wants a shot at beating Floyd needs handpseed. Simple as that.
Anyone with less than spectacular handspeed will not hit Floyd with anything effective no matter how aggressive. He'll see everything.
In my opinion, if any previous Floyd fight was a blueprint to beating him it'd have to be the (don't laugh) Zab Judah fight.

The key to beating Floyd IMO is to box pressure smart, tough chin, and effective body punching, just like castillo did. Although, Floyd has evolved, his power in his straight right (best punch IMO) has developed wonderfully, I think that is his money punch, and will be the one he keeps Baldomir off with tonight.

He showed his vulnerability in the Castillo fight. Castillo caught him when he attacked. He is vulnerable most when he attacks, so a good, quick and hard counterpunching may just do the job.

Coming from Judah fans, I can't take that serious. Castillo came closest, he even won the 1st IM(and most peoples)O, I think thats the way to do it. I expect someone to say thats rich coming from a Hatton fan, but its what I believe. I still think Hatton v Mayweather is truly 50-50.

I agree that right hand got some stank on it..He is so fast he can lead with it and you dont know when or were its coming from not to mention his ability to anticipate incoming punches the way he does is amazing...Thats one of the reasons why he is such a prolific counterpuncher
