GHOST TO FIGHT FOR TITLE AS SALIDO TEST POSITIVE FOR STEROIDS

Press Release: Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero, who lost his IBF featherweight title last weekend to Oralndo Salido, said through his publicist that he will immediately fight for his title because Salido tested positive for steroids. Guerrero, know for his exceptional punching power stated, “I hit this guy with some nice shots early in the fight and he didn’t budge. Usually when I hit guys with shots like that, they slow down. It had me thinking. It’s sad that he had to go to desperate measures in order to compete with me. I just thank Jesus Christ for coming out of this fight unharmed. The Nevada Athletic Commission is doing a great job because everyone who steps in the ring puts their life on the line. I’m just happy that my next fight will be a world championship fight. I’m fighting at the elite level in boxing and it’s a shame that Salido would have to use steroids to compete.” source: Mario Serrano press release.

Steroids and Boxing do not mix!!! Steroids thin the blood and that can be extreemely deadly in boxing!!! I don't even have to go into details......Drugs are bad...M'KAY...

I would bet MANY more boxers(past and present) use steroids and other drugs to give them an "edge". I could name a dozen without even thinking.........

Yeah, but steroids and the like are a different thing. Boxing is one sport that really needs to have zero tolorance for "steroid" use. I dont watch boxing to see some guy die in the ring.

Steriods give you way too many unfair advantages

    more switch fiber muscles
meaning more power, better muscle reflex, greater speed.

Didn't see the fight.. Was Guerrero really beat down or what.. Do ppl think that it was directly due to steroid use Salido won, or was he just the better boxer?

Salido beat him down. Was hitting Guererro in between The Ghosts wide shots and outboxing him. If they fought again Salido would win again. Looked more by style and fact that Guererro tried to fight an inside fight with an inside fighter that lost him the fight.

Salido is gonna be suspended now though. So Guererro will get his title back He should fight for it again.
