    Default Pacquiao destroys Morales!

    Pacquiao destroys Morales!

    Saturday, November 18 2006

By Mike Sloan, Victor Perea, Albert Howell at ringside

Super featherweight superstar Manny Pacquaio (43-3-2, 33 KOs) annihilated Erik Morales (48-5, 24 KOs) on Saturday night at the Thomas & Mack Arena in Las Vegas. Pacquiao dropped Morales with a left hand in round two, but Erik got up and fought back hard. Pacquiao knocked down Morales twice in round three and after the last knockdown Morales shook his head no. Pacquiao wins by KO at 2:57 of round three!

I was pulling for Pac, but I cant describe how horrible I felt seeing a warrior like Morales take the beatdown he got.

Morales has always opitimized what a prizefighter should be. Always taking the tough fights that guys like us want to see. Erik never took the path of least resistance that most fighters take when claiming their "legacy".

I got more than my money's worth from Eric Morales's career. ATG status is a no brainer in my book.

I think before gladiator, chinchilla trunk, pink glove wearin fighters start claiming they're the GOAT, they need to take a look at a career like Eric's.

Stealing a line from larry holmes, that cat couldnt hold Eric, Manny's or Marco's strap.

It was sorta tough to watch Eric get beat like that, but nothing he was gonna do tonight was gonna stop pac, too strong, too determined. I think this is the first time i have seen him use that right hand so effective it even surprised Eric with it.

Pac is improving, no doubt, but this was a fight where Morales' mind was writing checks his body couldnt cash. He tried and showed flashes of his former self, but it was obvious he was done.

that being said, I think Barrera even in his boxing mode, will get wasted by Pac.

I agree with right_cross Barrera would also get beaten down again even if he tried to box pac. Pac is soo aggressive he makes u fight whether u want to or not, plus i think Barrera has fear in his heart for Pac so he's already at a disadvantage.

    YEA MANNY!

    too bad for el terrible

I feel for both these fighters. It was absolutely OUTSTANDING for Pac-man, and most definitely bad for El Terrible.

well, what can I say after the fight? Satisfied....

Hoping another showdown. This time I hope Barrera will give the PACMAN (the real champ in the superfeatherweight division) the right to get the crown formally through the ring.

Barrera should not be a coward this time by fighting the Pacman. Cowardice is not an option now to get the respect of the boxing world.
