    Default Interesting question?

I have stepped up my training a significant amound recently and with leaving a day in between my work on strenght and conditioning which are bad bad workouts.. i get alot of pulled muscles on a weds night..
so theres no really enough time to rest and bath or whatever to get rid of pulled muscles etc.. so i then go back to training with pulled muscles...
does anyone have any theories? or is there any way or helping pulled muscles before training again?..
    Get at me..
    Peace

Sounds like your getting muscle soreness (DOMS) from increasing your training workload. Icing the sore areas after training can help. That's why some athletes have ice baths after heavy training.

lol Your right, ice baths are fooking extreme but they work.

Cold stops swelling and decreases blood flow preventing further secondary damage. Heat increases blood flow and relaxes muscle.

I dont think youve got a tear or strain, I beleive you dont stretch enough and have lactic problem because you dont warm down enougth. Do you stretch or warm down bet you dont, its in my book one of the most important things to getting fit. Prepareing the muscle for the expansion it needs to work at extreme optimal level it can without injury. Injurys cause long term problems with posture, the body works all or nothing ,so the rest of the body has to compensate. There lies the problem, because they are not working as they should which leads to a bigger issues long term which affects muscle memory. So spend some time warming down and stretching its worth it. at the moment go out and get some Epsom salts get in a hot bath put 1/2 llb of epsom salts in the bath with you as hot as you can stay there for 1/2 hour, lovely and its cheap
Pain lasts a only a minute, but the memory will last forever....

Thanks for the salts tip boss.. i'll give it a try!!
Im not sure what more i can do for stretching and warming down..
what would you do to warm down?...
the thing that really pulls my muscles is weights situps etc circuit thats a real badass..
then the entire gym does stretches as a particular trainer does em and you do em with him...
perhaps im not truely pushing it enough to stretch better?... what do you advise a warm down to be..
stretch usually comes after the full cicuit has ended so im not sure if i should do more at a slower pace as a warm down or whatnot?
    Thanks and cc!

I simple terms its like this, When we train we burn muscle. In that process the biulding blocks amino acids, 28 of them get extremely waisted by anaerobic excersise which causes waste lactic acid the more you stretch your opening the muscle and pathways to enable the muscle to perform more effectively ,and to work better under stress and rid itself faster of the waste produce. Having said that what some call stretching others would refer to it as loosening up. To stretch the whole body takes an hour 3 times a week As I have mentioned the body works all or nothing so when stretching, the same rule applys from your feet to your ears. If you want fitness without injury its the only way to go

And drink plenty of pure water afterwards to help flush that waste acids out of your lymps and fibres so that you heal fresh and they dont creep back in.

Your body tends to adapt also if your doing the same things week in week out.
For example the first 4 weeks of a new weight training routine leave you unable to move the next day, but then after a while the aches slowly start to wear off and eventually go.
