Default CAN COTTO be BIGGER THAN TITO was???????

My good friends whats good? After this great weekend of boxing, alot of people who I spoke with felt Cotto was going to get OWNED by Quitana, and then we all know how the fight ended in devistating COTTO fashion. So of course those same people who were on the Quitana bandwagon jumped off and jumped right back on the COTTO TRAIN! So with all the hype and love that Cotto is now obtained thus so far. Do you think Cotto can be bigger than what TITO was in his prime?
I feel that there are obvious similarities both being Boriqua descent, both got POWERFUL KO power.
Cotto unforunately does not have the great opposition out in his current weight class that Tito had in OSCAR, B-Hop, even Vargas. Who knows if Cotto will might even go up further in weight and take on more big time names as well in the future?
But one key major difference that I saw in Cotto that was not in Tito was Cottos willingness to learn ENGLISH and for him even having the post fight interview with Jim "the snoozefest"Gray in English. Cotto knows that in order for him to blow up even more marketable wise he had to master English and thats mad tight in my eyes. I was like WHOA shiiiiit Cottos speaking English and it was pretty damn good. So That is one thing Tito as big and popular as he was could never do go on the Tonight Show and promote his fights just as the biggest draws in the sweet science all do such as OSCAR.

So what do you all think COTTO gonna blow up bigger than TITO? hollaaaaaaaaar

cotto is good, and may become great (im not sure but i think i saw him on shobox waaaaay back, and had the same opinion) but tito is an ALL TIME GREAT, and anybody who saw him at ANY point in his career (before he got crazy and moved to 160) would have the same opinion.

all true, but IF COTTO unifies at 147 and KO's the likes of Paul Williams, and even Margarito and lets even be so bold as to hypothetically say he even KO's Zab and PBF and u see him on the Tonight Show doing stupid cheezy skits with Jay Leno to promote these bouts Could u see him blowing up bigger than TITO?

just some interesting thoughts my friends

i like the way COTTO carries himself too man he always looks like he's mad doggin even if hes not LOL but he carries himself well. like a true champ should. but yeah he def has MAD flaws still and pretty much still cocks the big left hook non stop until it lands kinda like a video game LOL. but i cant front I love seeing him bang man! Im a Fan no doubt. id like him to go up against a real skilled boxer/mover who can also bang and see how he holds up?

Actually no, many people questioned wether Felix would ever accomplish much as in the beging of his career he visited the canvas a couple of times and struggled with some weak opponents. I think it was the fight against Jake Rodriguez where the commentator said if he doesn't brush up his skill he won't accomplish much in his career. Tito was well marketed by his father early on and it was he (his father) who pushed Tito to go with Don King.
Which we all know he (Don) made him his golden child.....

Only time and the opposition he beats will tell. I would love to see him fight beats Tony, Mosley and Hatton.

ecvery boxer loves money that is the reason he is there anyways, HE looked strong at 147 against Collazo I will like for him to come up at least to fught Cotto how hast can that be Hatton said that Cotto was lazy so there is his good chance to prove that and earn $$$$$ (Rude awakening)

I just love COTTO man! he's a true bad asss PERIOD! he brings it in every fight. he's exciting to watch, hes got sick POWER. yes he's flawed and leaves himself open but that makes his fights even more action packed. i love how it always looks like Cotto is mad doggin even when he doesnt mean to be. the ONLY time ive seen Cotto not mad dog is in CUTMEMICK's signature LOL

I am not trying to compare Cotto to Tito.
I am looking for Cotto to make his own mark.
Right now he is under Tito's shadow.
Tito might always be greater because he came first. Not to mention the opposition.
I would however, like to see Cotto's name being mentioned right next to those great Puerto Rican fighters he and his countrymen revere so much. Cotto is 26 and has about 4 years to get busy and prove himself. Plenty of time (IMO) but then again who knows, he may go on to fight past his 30's.
